[PATCH] fentonups patch to make it work with some powercom ups's
Hi list here is the patch to make fentonups recognize some PowerCOM's UPS's, and to setup terminal lines for them (at least for SMK-1500a) as powercom's original upsmon do. fentonups -x powercom works correctly with SMK-1500a (it screamed ''Communications with UPS lost - check cabling' or 'Short read during UPS id sequence' without this patch). Sorry for sending as attachement, I'm not sure about...

Multiple groups barplot
...oups those samples belong to. For example, suppose to have three variables, age, sex, and smoker/nonsmoker, and three samples, S1, S2, S3. S1 is 35, male, nonsmoker S2 is 24, female, nonsmoker S3 is 24, female, smoker at the end I have the following data frame: S1 S2 S3 age 35 24 30 sex M F F smk N N S What I would like is to see this represented in a matrix with colors representing the group the specific sample belongs to. In the example, Age would have three levels, sex and smoker/nonsmoker will have two. An example of what I would like to obtain is from the attached image (from The Ca...

OPTI-UPS PS (PowerSeries)
...e. They use some kind of ASCII protocol, with the "F" and "Q1" queries, that many other models use. (i wonder what's the name of this protocol and where it originated?) Also it appers that they are rebranded Powercoms, because the 'hm' command returns "POWERCOM smk'. But unfortunately i was not able to make the powercom driver use them. So i began hacking a driver out of skel.c and got most of the stuff working but the battery voltage is giving me headaches :) here is a sample output of the 'Q1' query: (228.7 228.7 228.7 024 49.4 2.40 30.0...

file permissions help!
Hi all! Ran into a problem and hopefully i can get some help. OK here is my set up: - dovecot-0.99.10.4 + MySQL patch. - Redhat 9 The authentication part works just fine. It gives me the following entry in the log file: imap-login: "Apr 12 22:15:10 "Info: Login: USER at DOMAIN.com [127.0.0.1] But there is a problem with dovecot reading the mbox file (I think). New to this. Trying to install a dos game
...ux mint. I will probably use dosbox to play it but need wine for its windows installer. If you must know the game is Chex Quest. It's a game about intergalactic cereal. (Chex cereal) The problem that i have encountered is although the installer opens and works fine, there are video files in .smk format that are used in the game. The when I get done selecting all the stuff like where I want to install it to an error message comes up saying "file_name_here could not be opened" I'm a bit confused. What do I need to do in order to sucessfully install this game. Thanks

Pentium Samba server?
I have got an old pentium back. It is an Intel 66Mhz processor, 16MB RAM and a 2 gigabyte harddrive. Could it be used as a dedicated samba server and what Linux disto would work well? I was thinking of Debian 3 or Slackware. Can samba act as a 2000 PDC?

Virus Protection ... Which one...?
Hi all I've found a few different packages (RAV, Kaspersky,Vexira, Clam ...) which offer Anti-Virus features for Linux servers. It looks like RAV specifically supports Samba servers. My question is: Can anyone relay their experiences / opinions / thoughts about which one would work best in a multiple-server environment (~100 Windows Clients)? Thanks in advance -- all comments are

Possible to use array of spline functions for storing data?
...gt;? My plan had been to convert a set of about 300 rows of data into 300 spline functions that could be indexed in an array by gender, smoking status, and age. Would I be able to create an array of such functions? Testing leaves me discouraged: > spline.arr <- array( , dim= c(sex=2, smk=2, age = 65)) > str(spline.arr) logi [1:2, 1:2, 1:65] NA NA NA NA NA NA .. # Now attempt to store one function in the first "cell": > spline.arr[1,1,1] <- mspline Error in spline.arr[1, 1, 1] <- mspline : number of items to replace is not a multiple of replacement lengt...

auto start
Hi, I'm fairly new to both linux and samba. I'm running RH8 with Samba 2.2.7a. Samba's installed and is basically working, but can anyone tell me how I can get samba to start when linux boots up? I'm currently having to start it by running the following commands; ./usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd -D ./usr/local/samba/sbin/nmbd -D I've got the Using samba book from o'reilly, but
