File deletion problem with samba 2.2.8a and 3.0.0

I checked the samba logs, and everything is normal. I raised the debug level,
and found out that windows explorer sends an SMBunlink message, which unlinks
the file, and then sends a SMBtrans2 message for the same file, which returns
NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND (I suppose it's normal, as the file has been
deleted). Is that normal ? I'm not very familiar with the SMB protocol, so
maybe I missed something.

File Disappearance after copy?
Hi. I'm converting a group that was using Mac OS X Server (we were
dissatisfied) to Mandrake PPC Linux with Samba. The Mandrake-supplied
package is version 2.2.7a-8mdk. So far it works great - but we have a
serious and odd problem that I couldn't find in previous postings to this
list.
When I copy files from an OS X server to this Mandrake/Samba server they
usually disappear. Which is

Problems with Word 200 and Samba 2.2.6
I'm hoping someone has some insight into a problem I'm currenty having,
which is:
No one is able to edit (in place) documents with Word 2000 on a samba
(2.2.6) disk share. A user can open word and save a document to the
share, but when they go to edit the document Word says "Word cannot
complete the save due to a file permission error". From Microsoft KB
Q211632 it appears

Samba serving sshfs shares: can't delete files
Hello!
I have samba share on my sshfs-mounted folder. All works just fine
except I can't delete files from sshfs unless they are in 0777 chmodded
directory. Even if that files were putted trough smbclient. I can read
files, write files (regardless their directory permissions) but not
delete them.
Here is my share config:

Installing shared Windoze executables on a Samba share (fwd)
Hi,
I've got a Samba server here that runs great! I've got an NT machine on
my laptop and I can interface with the Samba server directly in any way
I want, except for one thing:
When I try to install a program (Visio) as a network shared app, the
installation always tells me "I've determined that the target drive
doesn't support long file names" after I choose to

SOLARIS_2.6: request_oplock_break
I saw a little discussion about this a few weeks ago but nothing concrete.
We're running samba-1.9.18p8 under Solaris 2.6x86. I am periodically
getting the following in the logfiles, usually _many_ at a time:
