SMBA->NT problems on RFC1918 Network
I don't know if this is the right place, but it is a place to start. I have two machines in a co-location facility. They are both on the same physical network segement and have real internet addresses and RFC1918 addresses. We get charged for traffic which goes across the "real" internet addresses which is part of the purpose for the RFC1918 network. The problem is connecting

Now in order to do that, I need a command to extract the expiration date from samba 4. Disabling accounts on a Samba PDC
Hello, I have samba 2.2.5 working as a PDC. I have created the user accounts, and I need to disable some accounts temporaly. I have tried: # smbpasswd -d "user" but the users are successfully authenticated in the smba domain, anyway. ?How can I disable accounts without deleting and creating the user accounts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Manuel Arenaz

client connections to shares
...on per share. Meaning that if we have SAMBA server that shares let's say three shares, then each client that connect to those shares (tcon) will end up having three tcp/ip connections with the server and of course there will be three separate smbd to handle each share. Essentially configuring SMBA that each smbd only communicate with one client (as it does today) and only allow one share access. Can it be configured on the client side or the server side to allow this architecture (one smbd/tcp per client per share) Cheers, Ephi

use linux user account information on samba
...ent //server/netlogon -Uusername -c 'ls' A few questiosn: 1) is it actually possible to authenticate a user with the linux authentication system to access samba shares? 2) If so can someone give me general directions and any good howtos's or wiki pages 3) Is the authentication for a smba share happening on the server or the DC? 4) I was wondering if my ldap setup has anything to do with this? I am not terribly keen on changing ldap since I cannot say I understand ldap well. Hope someone can give me directions. Cheers Michael

Domain Logons
Hello, I am new to Samba. I run FreeBSD 2.2.5-stable and Version 1.9.17p4. I would like my FreeBSD server to act as a DOMAIN Logon. And, for example if user riso logges in (using his FreeBSD box password) his /home/riso should be automatically maped to G: or something. The error message I get is: "You have entered an incorrect password, or access to your logon server has been denied."
