...hen closing a file you need to make it set the attributes if SMB_F_LOCALWRITE is set. The patch below is a starting point. It may work, but it probably doesn't. The diff is vs a 2.4.7-pre6 kernel but it should be possible to make the same changes to whatever kernel you use.
