smbd crash on character conversion
...) in their name. When I mount the share and try
to list the contents of the directory, smbd crashes.
samba version: 3.0.0rc1
The shared dir is on an ext2 partition. My system is a debian woody. iconv
is installed and samba's configure script founds it, however, it seems
that smbd uses its own smb_iconv().
In smb.conf I tried the parameter "character set = iso8859-2" and other
values as utf8, cp852 etc, but the crash persists.

Conversion error: Illegal multibyte sequence
Hello list,
I've noticed this problem for a few years now, I think. I see it popped
out now and then in discussions. But they always end before a solution
is given.
So let's try one more time :-)
I have plenty of UTF-8 named files and directories. It's UTF-8 all
round, I don't use anything else, so I have no doubt the byte sequences

Hi, I have a problem with Samba from last week. Our
SMB server( Debian Linux 2.2.12, samba 2.0.5a) was
working very well since october 99. We didn't do any
changes with our SMB server sw or hw configuration.
There is my problem: content of samba log file:
