samba windows-2-unix group mapping troubles

example:

this is needed to allow group admins to change share access

add local users or change group relationships on the ux server).

samba server with two kerberos realms
Hi Rowland,
> Are you using sssd or nslcd ?
I am using sssd. I can ssh into the server using credentials from either
kerberos realm.
E.g.
ssh cwseys at PHYSICS.WISC.EDU@smb01.physics.wisc.edu
(works)
ssh seys at AD.WISC.EDU@smb01.physics.wisc.edu
(works)
PHYSICS.WISC.EDU is an MIT kerberos KDC.
AD.WISC.EDU is a active directory KDC (etc).
The reason I thought sssd would be best is because I want to use the
/etc/passwd file for user existence and was easy to set up....

NT test of smbmount
...(kernel 2.0.30) and samba 1.9.18p8, with OSR2
and NT4SP3 clients. I can smbclient both NT and win95 boxes, but
"Net View NT_box" (from win95) and "smbclient -L NT_box" both fail
(but browsing both samba and NT from win95 works fine).
I can "smbmount //win95/share /mnt/smb01" just fine, but the same
command on the NT box requires the username switch (presumably
because the samba hostname is different than my account name on the
NT box).
The example command on the smbmount man page doesn't work at all:
smbmount "\\server\tmp" -c 'mount /mnt/s...

If you were to search for 'wtmp' in the 1997 archives
(via the Samba web pages), you would find one interesting

strange problem
Hello.
I have a problem that I hope you can help me with.
I have 95,98 and NT machines and a Linux box with samba 2.2.5 (or what ever is
shipped with redhat) that shares a printer to the windows machines.
The problem is now:
-the NT machines finds the printer!
-the 98 machine finds something, but rejects all passwords (it runs encryot.
passwd)
-the 95 does not find anything at all. (runs encrypt
