Postfix Question
I've googled around and although I get a lot of hits about postfix smarthost authentication with ssl, I can not find out how to actually accomplish the task. I've read through smatterings of postings from Neophasis and the like searching for just the syntax and what file (I assume it's main.cf) I should be using; however, any smtpd_ lines I have tried result in postfix hanging and refusing to deliver mail. I could simply cease using smarthost, but my ip address is dynamic (yes...

OGG --> MP3 conversion app?
hello all does anyone know of a utility convert OGG to MP3 and prehapes MP3 to OGG? While i use ogg for everything on my computer, my discman only plays MP3 files, so a nice program where i can drag and drop folders to reencode to MP3 would be a very nice thing to have indeed. Kinda like oggdrop but mp3drop. if there isn't i might just attempt to write one (i'm just 1st year

Can I force yum to only use http.
Our outsourced IT department has decided to use white listing on the firewalls for outbound ftp. I was given a list of sites our lab had accessed via ftp and eventually tracked them down to Linux machines running yum. They are all CentOS 5 or 6 with a smattering of 7. It is impractical to list all the possibilities since they change on a regular basis. Also any 3rd party repos we need are

Is Asterisk a Linux only system?

I'm also unaware of anyone developing on BSD like that. Linux of course and a smattering of folks on OSX doing the odd thing. Cheers, -- Joshua Colp Digium, Inc. | Senior Software

[LLVMdev] Instruction pattern type inference problem
I have a back end which has both scalar and vector registers that alias each other. I'm having a problem generating the ISel from tablegen that appears only when a vector register class is declared to contain integer vectors. At that moment tablegen doesn't seem to be able to infer integer types in patterns that it was able to before, but I'm not clear on why that's the

actionmailler corrupting emails
Hi All, I have a problem with actionmailer corrupting my html emails. It is adding the character ''3D'' before any quotes (single or double) in my source and smattering ''='' characters throughout as well. Very strange. Here''s an example from one of the emails: ________________ <body> <div id=3D''wrapper''> <div

RHEL 6 and ActiveRecord issues
All, I am trying to install puppet master version 2.7.13 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, and utilize stored configs. I followed the guide here: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Using_Stored_Configuration When I run puppet --noop on one of the clients, I get the following error: err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER: Could not autoload

Python/sqlite date time problems.
Bear with me, this is CentOS related. :) I have a python CGI that's behaving weirldy on Whitebox systems that've been switched over to CentOS 4 (ages ago, no other problems to speak of aside from this one). I've broken the problem down to a minimal test case... 1. Create a small database # sqlite3 /tmp/testcase.db 'CREATE TABLE testtable ( date date primary key unique, name

File owner SID instead of name showing for one user
Hello, I recently migrated all data and user accounts from our old Samba file server to a new (Samba 3.4.0 on Unbuntu 9.10) one. Everything is working fine except that there is one user whose SID is showing in the "Owner" column of Windows Explorer instead of the user name. It's not a big problem, but the user is uncomfortable with it and I'd like to know why it's

Puppet vs Oracle Enterprise Manager (cm pack)?
Hey; I''m still very new to puppet having *just* finished the pro puppet book. Going to have to go back to that a few times for re-reading, I suspect. Any rate, I have a client who''s leaning very heavily towards OEM w/the configuration management pack. Despite some fairly exhaustive google sessions, I haven''t been able to find a direct comparison between these

The goal isn't really maximum generality, but support for languages that people care about. Currently that's mostly C and C++, with a smattering of features for some others. But features almost never get added
