Patton SmartNode
Does anybody have any experience using a Patton SmartNode as a SIP/Telco
gateway with Asterisk? They seem really inexpensive and appear to
support all of the necessary features, but I don't have any experience
with their products, so I don't know if they are any good. We are
currently using a Cisco 2600 w/ PRI card and it works fine, but I...

Patton SmartNode 4638 and ISDN2e
Hello
Does anyone have any experience with configuring BT (British Telecom)
ISDN2e lines to work with Patton SmartNodes?
I have a Patton SmartNode 4638, which is now connected to 3 x ISDN2e
lines - and in turn connected to our internal LAN. I'm having huge
issues configuring the SmartNode to successfully "see" the ISDN channels
- and to be honest, I'm lost as to how to then route those calls t...

B410P and Patton smartnode : any success ?
Hi,
1. Has someone met any success at all, connecting a Digium B410P to a Patton
Smartnode 4638 (with latest 5.3 firmware) ?
2. If positive, then, which signalling was used on both sides ?
My project's goal is use a Patton Smartnode 4638 to act as telco BRI lines,
from a B410P-enabled asterisk box.
In my testings, I can see channel is respectively up (with patton web server

Patton smartnode 463x (BRI) 25ms tail echo cancellation
...I cards in our installations. Due to echo problems
(that was before Oslec and others), we quickly switched to cards with
hardware-based EC.
So we use exclusively Digium B410p cards that provide 64ms tail EC.
For several reasons we'd like to switch to external BRI gateways like
the Patton smartnodes (the price is getting really close to a B410p).
I'm however curious about their HW EC. I see in the datasheets that it
only has 25ms tail per channel (pri are 128ms, but not BRI).
Are some of you using these gateway and do your experience (many)
echo problems on calls ?
Our other alter...

Patton SmartNode Help
I have been given a Patton SmartNode 4114 and asked to get it working as
POPS gateway for our asterisk box. The 4114 has 4 FXO ports. It's got
firmware 3.21 on it. I currently have a single POPS line plugged into
port 0.
I can not seem to get the two to talk together. I am running asterisk
1.2.21.1. I am seeing the following...

Asterisk and Patton
Hi,
we have and Asterisk server connected to a Patton Smartnode 4638 with
4 BRI.
We configured 4 SIP account on Patton (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004).
The system is fully functional, but we have a problem to recognize
incoming calls from Asterisk: when a call come from SIP/1001 (BRI 1 on
Patton) or SIP/1002 (BRI 2) or SIP/1003 (BRI 3) Asterisk record a call
coming f...

PRI to SIP
Hi
Can someone recommend a PRI to SIP Box that work well with asterisk
We are presently testing with a Patton Smartnode 2400 but we are unable to
fax through it.
We don't want to use digium card in a linux box for the PRI connection.
Which Cisco box would work.
Thanks

Fwd: Re: Asterisk T.38 Pass-Through doesn't work
Hi!
I have exactly the same problem on asterisk 1.8.22.0 and also on separate
11.2.1 when sending fax to PSTN.
Tryed with spa-3102, spa-2102, Patton Smartnode 4634, and Zoiper softphone.
SpanDsp also works without any problem on my box.
As I remember it was a bug in 1.8.1.x that the a=T38MaxBitRate paramater
was sent as "maxBitRate". Without capital "M".
Are you closer to the solution?
I have tryed almost anything and I don't u...

T38 Passthrough testing -- unknown media type error
We are testing the new T38 passthrough code (SVN-oej-t38passthrough-r13347):
- we are using a Sipura SPA-2100 as the T.38 user device
- we are using a Patton SmartNode 2400 as the T.38/PRI gateway
- we are using Asterisk in the middle
We have the following in the [general] section of our sip.conf:
t38pt_udptl = yes
t38pt_rtp = yes
When a fax call comes in from the SmartNode to Asterisk and is then
bridged to the SPA-2100 we see the following messages:...

Any idea how making Asterisk "transparent"?
Hello!
I am using Asterisk as transparent voice recorder for calls (isdn <->
asterisk <-> pbx). Voice recording (therefore voice forwarding) is
working great but seems that Asterisk does not route/bridge/forward
D-Channel messages which means PBX cannot get time synchronization
answer from provider and tarification impulse too. With direct
connection PBX works great and use both

DAHDI on VMWARE
Hi gang,
We are moving our computers from a cluster of physical machines
to a VMWARE server with virtual machines. We investigated and are looking
to replace our TDM400P/TDM410P with AEX410P cards. Can we run asterisk with
the DAHDI drivers from one of the Virtual machines or is DAHDI going to have
to be a native process on the "REAL" machine?
Thanks

Ringinbacktone even without 'r', and inexistant codec
I am trying to make an Inalp Smartnode 1200 (SIP-to-ISDN gateway) work with Asterisk. It works ... Partially.
We are using the Inalp to connect ISDN phones, it basically acts like an ISDN ATA.
First of all, when I make a SIP call to the unit with a simple Dial() command (no "r", so Asterisk shouldn't generate its ringba...

Asterisk crashes from time to time
...lways the same, asterisk stops responding, the cli does
not give any reaction on command input, you have to manually kill -9 all
asterisk and moh processes.
Asterisk logs are empty.
We don't use any isdn/fxs/fxo/e1/t1 cards in these servers.
Our connections to PSTN is only made by Patton/Inalp SmartNode Gateways,
connected to asterisk via sip protocol.
Scince these crashes appear on three servers with different hardware, and
the main installation is always the same, I would think there are "only" two
possible sources to find the failure:
Operating System Fedora Core 2 Kernel 2.6.8-1.52...

small pbx for the office [it was: small homebrew pbx]

I've never used FreePBX, but, after having looked at its website, I
think I have a general understanding of what it can do. What I don't
understand is how FreePBX answers my question about the Linksys SPA3102
being good for a mission

I've used the SPA3102 and would recommend it for home use. For business
look at the Patton SmartNode 4110 series devices or a Cisco router with FXO
card and DSP modules. I have deployed both and haven't had any complaints.
They just work once configured.

Best External PRI Gateway?
I'm currently looking to interconnect my Asterisk PBX system with the PSTN
via a digital PRI/T1.
I know a multitude of options exist for internal PCI cards
(Digium/Sangoma/Rhino), I was wondering if anyone has any experience or
recommendations of external PRI media gateways that support SIP.
So far I've found:
VegaStream Vega 400
Audiocodes Mediant 2000
MediaTrix 1531

Gateway doesn't ring
...propperly, but no more ring will follow. But the call can nevertheless be
answered by a phone on the gateway.
If i call the same Gateway through a connected second Asterisk the ringing is
done well.
If a call is coming through the same SIP Provider to another Gateway
i.e. "Inalp Patton SmartNode SN4552" all is working fine.
Is this a problem on the configuration of the Gateway itselfs or on Asterisk
for this gateway?
Thanks
