UDP Ports scan on firewall
I'm using Asterisk to registry several DDI's to a sip proxy
(pipecall.com). Everything works fine apart from several times a day my
firewall (zywall70) reports a UDP port scan attack from the pipecall sip
proxy. I can't seem to work out why this should be. All I could think
was that the sip registry was expiring and causing some strange probing
from the proxy, is it possible to alter

Only Accept Call After Pressing a Key '#' or '*'
I would like asterisk to dial an extension or external number but for
the call to only be connected after the called party presses a key.
Therefore been able to announce the call to the called party before
answering. I have had this working on queued calls but want to
incorporate this for standard dialled extensions.
Our use for this would to be able to divert a call to a users mobile but

samba ADDC dns setup? ( this is same for any MS server )

I know about the dns "things" in the past. DNS Islanding problems etc.
This one is a bit hijacking the subject :
“Horrible BIND9_DLZ DNS breakage after DC replaced and samba-tool domain demote --remove-other-dead-server”
I would like to suggest a smale change in how we suggest to setup samba ADDC dns things,
and i do think this help in the setup of the AD DC, and reduce change on errors.
So this is what i suggest, and i explain why, so yeah.. long email again, sorry about that.
The loopback address ip should be configured only as a se...

SoxMix - Fails to Execute
I have Asterisk configured to record calls. Both in and out record ok
but SoxMix fails to join the two files.
The error from the CLI is as follows:

Support for Snom 200 Extension Monitoring
I'm having trouble working out the supported functionality in Asterisk
for Snom 200 extension monitoring. By setting one of the Snom keys to
'destination' and entering the extension number I can quick dial the
extension by pressing the softkey. However no status of the extension
seems to be monitored. The soft key assigned to the extension just stays
solid orange even when the person

Subject: Re: SoxMix - Fails to Execute
Is the path to soxmix in the $PATH environment variable when asterisk
starts. If you're running from an init script it may not have path set
at that point.
When you log in, you set the path variable. Have you tried putting
explicit paths into the command in your extensions.conf?
IE /usr/bin/soxmix instead of just soxmix.

That sorted it, thanks
