Slowww access from Win9x to Samba Shares
Slow connections login isnt too bad ... 4 sec. tops but its at least 10 seconds or more to access Samba shared Printers or Directories. this is a 10/100 network using Redhat 6.0 with Samba 2.0.5a ... everything works great Except for access times. for example Win9x --> NT its relatively Quick. Is this an Authorization Default that checks every access to Shared objects ? security is all

Machine SLOWWWS and then stops after a few minutes running centos 5.
Hi all, I had asked the other day about my new machine amd 6000+ and strangely SLOWWING down then eventually stopping. I have tried a new 500W power supply, I took out the extra video card, and just used the one on the motherboard (both are nvidia one with DVI one RGB). I took out all the RAM and tried differnent RAM. I ran memtest86 (ran fine until the machine turn off). Harddrives should be

Hi, I have a v2000 compaq laptop. The realtek network and USB on this machine was not working. After adding to grub.conf "acpi=off apci=off noacpi noapic" the v2000 realtek started working and the USB worked fine... Fantastic! So I thought I would try those same options on my r4000 laptop. they had no effect.... This AMD turion 64 4000+ rating laptop is still running SLOWWW...

current kernel 2.6.14.X

AIX 4.32 install (PLEASE HELP)
I've been having problems installing Samba on AIX 4.32. I have spent well over two weeks on the issue and have not had any major success.
