So, I'm trying to paw through the long set of smb.conf options - and it's rather daunting. I'm wondering what smb.conf options are most important/appropriate/common for mostly Windows XP/7/(possibly v8) clients. I'm sure this is related to name-spaces, but for some reason [brain damage perhaps? :) ] I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. So, I setup Samba on Ubuntu 18.04, using the packaged Samba version. So, I'm curious about the contrast between modifying netplan vs simply disabling systemd.resolved Is there some advantage to the gyrations to make netplan work, vs simply disabling resolved and manually defining the IP and DNS server?
