Win7 login sloooooow
Hi,
I found that login to Samba4 PDC takes few seconds in XP, but very long
in Win7.
The Login in Win7 is fast when setting this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
"WaitForNetwork"=dword:00000001
If I set it to 1, the login takes about 3 seconds. If I set it to 90
(decimal), then the login takes more than 90 seconds. Setting it to 0
means using the

Is rails + oci8 + mac os x intel a winning combination? It appears
that oci8 might be a issue.

IO rate quotas?
...d, someone accidentally sets up an
email account in thunderbird mistakingly leaving the download
everything option on. This causes high IO on our server, and a single
user can quickly more or less kill the whole server in mere minutes,
load average quickly spiking to 30-40-50 and everything becomes
sloooooow (obviously).
Is there any way I can limit the amount of IO a certain user can use?
Thanks and best regards,
KT
P.S.

Lots of huge matrices, for-loops, speed
...elated to speeding up code and maybe
vectorizing parts of the procedure could help a bit. However, I am a
neophyte (as you may see from the code below) and did not find a way by now.
I would appreciate very much any suggestions for speeding up the procedure.
Thanks, Zarza

Strange Behavior on Non-Index Pages
If I browse to \myRoRApp, I get the "Welcome aboard" screen.
I''ve done the ruby scripts/generate controller MyTest, and "Rolling with
Ruby on Rails" tells me I should be able to browse to \myRoRApp\MyTest
and see an error page, but what I''m actually seeing is a fastcgi config
file!
I have installed fastcgi, but apache can''t "see" the

zpool export consumes whole CPU and takes more than 30 minutes to complete
...s like there''re many outstanding transaction in a memory which zfs tries to execute (put to disks) but just traversing over some kind of in-memory meta data consumes entire one CPU which is the limiting factor here and at the end it can''t even saturate disks (well it''s so sloooooow that it wouldn''t saturate a floppy disk).
Why only one CPU? Why CPU is needed at all (at such quantities) to just flush caches?
