Personal Wiki for CentOS
For ages I have been keeping docs and notes in Public Folders inside an Exchange server
and want to move this out to a more modern facility that allows tagging and searching via
a web interface for keywords so I can keep all my notes more organized.
Anyone have any personal recos for the slickest system to do this with. Given the nature of
my home setup, its routinely used to lab stuff up so I would want something that can be easily
migrated to a new install if need be.
Thanks!

replacing NA values in an expression
Dear R people,
This is simple, nay trivial question. I do the following. I just want to
know what is the slickest/most elegant method. I have an expression
containing the term
(y)*log(y)
where y can take the value either 0 or 1. If y is 0 then the expression is
undefined, but in this case I want to replace the result by 0 in the
expression. I don't want to write a separate function for this, which
would...

nlm recursion problem
...native non-linear minimiser? I suspect that it is the static memory
within the Fortran - is there any way of copying this to an object after
the outer call then restoring it after the inner calls?
nlm is called by many functions and packages so perhaps this is quite a
common problem - what is the slickest way round it? The solution required
is just the intercept and slope of a line where there may be censored data
so lm() won't do and neither will optimise() (it is only for 1 dimension
and I require 2).

Rate My Dialplan Contest Announced - Win a Phone or Copies of APSTel Visual Dialplan Std or Pro!
We often find ourselves reading through all sorts of contests on the
Internet that never seem to echo our own personal skill set or interests.
Perhaps you've even fantasized about a type of contest with the types of
prizes and goodies that YOU'D actually enjoy. Maybe you've wished there were
something along the lines of a asterisk phone system diagram contest? With
prizes ranging from

Passing Arguments to before_filter
I want to put a before_filter in application.rb, as follows:
before_filter :do_something, :except_controller => [:admin]
def do_something(options)
options.stringify_keys!
unless options[:except_controller].include?(controller_name)
# do something useful
end
end
Where I''m blocking is on how to get the ''options'' data in the do_something
method. I think I

prerelease of the Postfish
...when this functionality was the very core of
what I needed for mixdown.
Both the Postfish UI and the filter functionality are intended to be
the most usable day-to-day set, rather than sporting the maximum
number of buttons in the smallest space or more features than the
next app (or the slickest skin).
Postfish is the way it is because I need it, and I use it for the
core basics of mixing that I absolutely cannot afford to screw up.
Some filters (like the declipper and deverberator) are unique. Even
among those that aren't, Postfish as implemented deliberately sets

I am a newbie and I would like some help deciding what operating system
I would like first to introduce my self to the community. I am Steve
Beyer and I am interested in learning Ruby, ROR, and how to set up a
production server. I am going to use OSX for my client/developement
system but I would like to get some advice on what operating system
you would recommend for a production server. I want to use Mongrel
to start and then move up the ladder as my

dumb, dumb question
I''m very new to shorewall. My setup is IP Gateway (CentOS 4 + Shorewall)
with 3 NIC cards.
Shorewall works great on the firewall machine. Bind also works (local
net machines get IPs fine). Under firestarter, all works great.
With shorewall, the loc machines can not route past the firewall. They
can connect to the firewall, but not past it.
Exactly what information should I post to get
