[help] failed to launch guestfs in different Openstack environment
Hello guys, This is Phoenix from Dell and we now have one strange issue related to launch guestfs in Openstack environment. In Openstack of our lab, guestfs can be launched successfully within one SLES12 instance. While when our SLES12 instance is deployed in customer's Openstack, we see guestfs cannot be launched. And also the error message is ambiguous : [cid:e6918586-90ff-46c7-b0d3-97e48ac9a22a] Do you have any idea whether there is some settings in Openstack ( such as KVM sett...

OpenSSH forcing the signature to SHA1.
...DSA keypair with sha256. I am able to successfully connect using this keypair. My understanding was, as of 7.2 the support for SHA256 with RSA was there ( https://www.openssh.com/txt/release-7.2) Are there any options which I am not aware of? At the moment I am using openssh-7.9p1-233.1.x86_64 on SLES12. Thanks a lot for the help. Regards Renjith

IDMAP Cache
...s running well. But now, I like to migrate to Samba 4 and I've made a few tests before. The whole time I with Samba 3, I was surprised about the many ldap requests so that I thought about an additional local OpenLDAP proxy cache. But now with Samba 4 (with the same configuration like Samba 3, SLES12) the IDMAP requests are cached in a local tdb (gencache.tdb). I can check the local cache "net cache list". While the list on Samba 3 is empty, with Samba 4 there are a lot of IDMAP entires. No winbind is running. My questions: - Is this cache configurable (TTL, ...) - I've not...

Samba 4 - ISO-8859-15 filenames not listed while browsing
...CTYPE & LANG locale are set to en_US.UTF-8 - First server is Samba-3.6.3 (SLES11 SP4, kernel 3.0.101-107-default) : those files are accessible from windows/smbclient, with UCS2 characters (ie "\344" for "ä") being replaced with a "_" - Second one is Samba-4.6.9 (SLES12 SP2, kernel 4.4.103-6.38-default) : those files simply don't show up while browsing. In any case, log.smdb complains about : convert_string_internal: Conversion error: Illegal multibyte sequence If I change the "unix charset = iso-8859-15" in the config for Samba4, it shows the fi...

DFS Shares (Clustered)
...it will eventually connect to the second server ... this is time consuming and annoying. Here is an example from '/etc/fstab' file : //our.domain.com/PATH/TO/SHARE /target cifs credentials=/etc/samba/credfiles/credentials,uid=user,gid=group,_netdev 0 0 Servers Vary between RHEL 6 / 7 and SLES12. We patch quarterly so various software packages are never that out of date. Can anyone provide some assistance in this matter ? Much appreciated. Regards Shaun

...OOB r/w access (#2)" by Sebastian > Krahmer > https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2014-04/msg03538.html Jumping > late onto this thread: SUSE Security team has just recently done a thorough review of QEMU ivshmem code because a customer has requested this be supported in SLES12. Multiple security-related patches were submitted by Stefan Hajnoczi and Sebastian Krahmer, and I fear they are probably still not merged for lack of active maintainer... In such cases, after review, I expect them to be picked up by Peter as committer or via qemu-trivial. So -1, against dropping i...
