PATCH: UTF-8 checking in libvorbis
...ee instead of the ones installed on the system? How do I
compile libraries with debugging information with the autoconf/auotmake
system? How do I tell gdb where to find the sourcecode for debugging in the
library? My current setup where I link oggenc manually with an -L option to
point to /home/noa/slask/libvorbis-1.0beta4/lib/.libs/ and --static to be
sure that I don't link with the system-wide libraries (I remove
libvorbis-devel) feels a little bit sub-optimal.

[LLVMdev] FreeBSD-current
...current to FreeBSD-8, and the trivial fix is to make gcc aware of this.
Patch attached. For llvmgcc-4.2 the issue is already fixed in one of two
places but the remaining is solved the same way.
Cheers,
/Niklas

Vorbis is low on artifacts but EQ isn't good
I'm amazed by how low the artifacts are when encoding with Vorbis, but I found
problems (Vorbis version 1.00) on equalization (high vs midrange vs low pitches
balance) when encoding my benchmark audio track, problems which are hard to go
away even at very high bitrates.
My benchmark audio track is composed by me and you can find it here

File attributes issue
HiWe have two Windows servers (one active, one standby) that we keep in sync by using ROBOCOPY to do a differential copy every night. The options make sure that only new or altered files are transferred, and deleted ?master? files also is deleted on the standby server.
Now I want to relocate a couple of shares from the active server to a Samba 4.20 server. The shares are up and working as they

ZFS problem after disk faliure
One of my disks in the zfs raidz2 pool developed some mechanical faliure and had to be replaced. It is possible that I may have swaped the sata cables during the exchange, but this has never been a problem before in my previous tests.
What concerns me is the output from zpool status for the c2d0 disk. The exchanged disk is now c3d0 but is no longer a part of the pool?!
