bug in channel_still_open() ?
...ith a patch which fixes the problem. I don't know if it's the right thing to do, though. I'm guessing that not counting larval channels might have been a mistake. Boot Log Problems
Hi, I have just updated from CentOS 4 to 5 and I am seeing a problem with udev during booting, but I am unable to track it down as it looks like the boot.log is not working. The file is there but empty and the previous log only lists events up to the point at which I upgraded. syslog.conf looks ok to me in so much as there is an entry pointing to /var/log/boot.log. Any suggestions as to what I

CentOS 5 Boot Issues
Hi all, I am still having problems with my desktop system. Having updated it from 4 to 5, I now have problems with the logs. Neither boot.log nor dmesg has any data post the update. syslog appears to be normal in that it starts when it should but does not show any errors. It looks like whatever is supposed to write to the logs during initial boot is not doing so, but I am not sure where to look

Spatial Probit in R
...oscedasticity in spatial probit models. This estimator was first suggested by Case (1992). If someone could provide me with such an R-script I would be most grateful. Moreover I would be interested in obtaining script for the Moran Test (an its LM counterparts) for spatial probit models (Pinkse and Slade (1998) and Kelejian and Prucha (2001)). If someone knows other software that can carry out these estimations I would appreciate it someone could point that out to me. Regards, Jon Fiva (jon.fiva@svt.ntnu.no) Case A.C. 1992. 2.3.0pl1 on Linux
Hi: Downloaded, built and installed 2.3.0pl1 for Linux. Followed instructions but unfortunately the final configuration didn't go well. Problem: The instructions for key generation bare no resemblance to what the current man pages require. Quite frankly I am new to this and am quite confused. " make host-key " doesn't work. XAUTHORITY=/tmp/ssh-*/cookies makes forwarding through firewall difficult...
Hi. I see this XAUTHORITY=/tmp/ssh-*/cookies issue has been discussed repeatedly, but I haven't seen a solution to the following problem. Remote user logs into firewall. On firewall, DISPLAY var set to secure channel, XAUTHORITY set to /tmp/ssh-*/cookies. X11 forwarding from firewall works fine. User logs into machine behind firewall, and sets DISPLAY var to firewall:X11DisplayOffset.0.

Kerberos Books/Documents
Hey all, I've tried kerberizing SSH but I can't get it to login. I've read a lot of documentation, but I wish I could find a "cook-book" type of setup or how-to to get this beast working correctly, or to at least verify it's working per a specification. With that, I'm interested in what books/docs/etc does anyone recommend to get a good understanding of: 1.

RedHat 7.0 openssh-2.2.0p1-5 vs ssh 2.3.0
Hello, I am using RedHat's most recent openssh-2.20p1-5 srpm recompiled on Linuxppc under glibc 2.1.95/Linux 2.4-test10pre2/gcc 2.95.3(cvs). I have noticed an oddity when connecting to machines running ssh 2.3.0's sshd2 server. While the connections occur with no problem after awhile the connection fails when idle with the following error message... Hm, dispatch protocol error: type

openssh-3.0p1, auth2.c
openssh-3.0p1 still contains the bug which I already reported on Sept. 28 2001 for 2.9p2, namely, the trailing dot in chost should be stripped before calling auth_rhosts2() even with option "HostbasedUsesNameFromPacketOnly yes". Otherwise, the host names in /etc/hosts.equiv and .rhosts would have to be dot-terminated. Fix: Move lines 776-779 of auth2.c upwards to after line 767. (These
