dhcpcd.conf
Hi, ran into a problem w/ linode hosted VM where IPv6 address changed after they migrated it to a different host. They claim I can fix it with sed -i 's/slaac private/slaac hwaddr/' /etc/dhcpcd.conf However there appears to be no dhcpcd.conf on any of my CentOS 7 systems. What is the CentOS 7 equivalent?

I have IPv4 DNS on my home network, so don't have an issue. I did just look, and OpenWRT is putting the DNS option for SLAAC in the RA, so that should work too (but I think that's something rel...

Privacy Extension not working in VM
...roblem has already been discussed in the German Debian-Forum ... unfortunately also without success. The facts: - ISP = Dual Stack with daily separation - Host and VM = Debian 10 - The VMs are via macvtap-device regular LAN-Clients - IPv4 = DHCP and NAT by DSL-Router - IPv6 = GUA via RA and SLAAC (2003::/3) - IPv4 works fine in the VM - IPv6 (NDP, RA, SLAAC) works basically also fine in the VM The existing problem in the VM: - MAC-Based GUA (2000::/3) is ok, both inbound and outbound - Outbound traffic via the second GUA (PE-Based) is filtered apparently, but not via packetfiltering, I...

CentOS 7, systemd, NetworkMangler, oh, my
...ted to a different machine, I think because of a bad fan in the server. NSD never properly came up. After investigation, it is because the IPv6 address changed. Trying to figure out why the IPv6 address changed has been a nightmare. Linode support suspects the reason is because the VM is using slaac private to request the IP address instead of slaac hwaddr - and suggested that I change the /etc/dhcpcd.conf file. Well CentOS 7 doesn't use that, and trying to figure out where in the mess of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts the problem is occurring has caused me much frustration. Why the...

CentOS 7, NetworkMangler, and ipv6
We've started having a problem with a CentOS 7 server. It looses its IPv6 address, if I understand this issue correctly. We can get in, if we do ssh -4, though. In the logs, I'm seeing this about twice an hour: <warn> (pid 98466) unhandled DHCP event for interface ens3f0 Now, in googling, I get very few hits putting quotes around "unhanded dhcp exception" - in fact, the

ipv6 NAT; accept_ra errors and about network choice
...internal error: Check the host setup: enabling IPv6 forwarding with RA routes without accept_ra set to 2 is likely to cause routes loss. Interfaces to look at: wlp4s0 wlp4s0 is my wifi card that is configured by NetworkManager in a completely unremarkable fashion. By default it gets an ipv6 via SLAAC from my router. This feels a bit like the unresolved bug [1] which says that systemd-networkd is handling the RA's in userspace for ... reasons [2]. It's unclear to me if NetworkManager is doing similar. I feel like this must be a red-herring. My wired interface has the same setting of...

CentOS 7, NetworkMangler, and ipv6
...go on here so you're going to have to provide more detail ... Does the system lose all ipv6 connectivity (is the fe80:: address uncontactable for instance) Does ip addr sh still show the expected global IPv6 address and it's just not responding? Are you using a static ipv6, dhcp ipv6 or SLAAC ipv6 configuration? Does nmcli c sh <conn-name> still have NM thinking there is an address or does that show it as gone as well? Start with those in mind as initial questions for diagnostics...

Help with IPv6 /48 block
Hello. It happens that at the company I'm working decided to start migration of IPs tech. So they got a /48 block. I were trying to add it with: ifcfg-eth0-range1 (0 is already in use with IPv4 range): IPV6ADDR_START=xxxx IPV6ADDR_END=xxxx CLONENUM_START=0 But of course I am assuming that like in IPv4 IPADDR_START/END is implemented. Please give some guidance as I need this to done

CentOS 7, NM, and IPv6
Hi, folks, I and the other admin here have just been assigned a mission... here's what's happening: only very recently - the last week? our CentOS 7 boxes, or at least some of them, will lose their IPv6 addresses, and not get it back. 1. We're running dibbler on the same box that serves DHCP. 2. It's been working for many months. 3. The lease file remains in place.
