one domU out of 4 looses time sync
...) 64bit on a 2x4core system with 16 gb ram with 3 Scientific Linux 4.6 (rhel 4.6 compatible) guests an one Scientific Linux 5.1 guest. I do not run ntp on the guests but only on dom0. One specific Scientific Linux 4 domU always looses time synchronization with dom0. All the others SL4 and the SL5 domUs remain synchronized. There is no difference in the xen configuration from the others apart from different memory size. If I restart ntpd on the dom0 the time is synchronized across all domUs, including the problematic one. After about a week of uptime the time different can be up to 2 mi...

How to check if a package exists
Dear all, I''m trying to do this. Say for example, I want this link: "liblcgdm.so -> liblcgdm.so.1.8.0" to be present on the client only if "lcgdm- libs-1.8.0-1sec.sl5" is already listed. I already have this to create the link: file { ''liblcgdm.so'': ensure => symlink, name => ''/opt/lcg/lib/liblcgdm.so'', target => ''liblcgdm.so.1.8.0''; } but how do I check the existence of th...

gtkpod
High and low searching (google, most of the repos in http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories) availed nothing - has anyone found a repo for gtkpod on centos-6? I seem to recall having to use fedora packages at some time in the past. Bit loath to do that again or compile from source. Thanks Bob

CentOS and Atheros
What's the easiest path to having my Atheros wireless cards supported, particularly in C5? In the past, I've chosen to download source and build my own, but that's become a little tiresome. At one point, OpenSUSE was the easy option, but since 10.1 it's dropped madwifi. -- Cheers John -- spambait 1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Z1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Please do not
