disk drive sparing - questions not answers
...r than increasing, over time. Why is that? Some possibilities: - Perhaps due to the trend to outsource different computer admin related functions to less experienced, and lower cost, labor pools. - perhaps due to the fact that technical management does not understand or appreciate, the required skillsets and is simply not prepared to pay for them. - perhaps because of the theory that modern hardware is so reliable that human involvement is simply un-necessary. And that the supplier of said hardware has already "engineered out", the expected failure modes. - perhaps because the current...

JOB: Bandzoogle.com
...web company with a tremendously supportive user base. Some symptoms that you might fit in at Bandzoogle: - You get really excited when you play with elegant web frameworks like Rails, Dojo, and Prototype (uncontrollable giggling is an especially strong indicator) - The most important part of your skillset is not what you have done, but rather by what you can do (convenient, since there''s nothing you can''t do with google, grep, and more giggling) - You think elegant software design qualifies as a legitimate art form. - You take pride in writing unbreakable code (and take sadistic pl...

Installation on Intel DH67BL motherboard failed
...ty, so the machine is not hung. So the issue is obviously the graphics chipset. Research in CentOS forums shows that this may be supported by CentOS 6.1 machine. Can I install graphics/network support from some other repo, till 6.1 arrives and then again I can reinstall with only CentOS repos. My skillset is limited to compiling from source if instructions are there, but not trial & error otherwise. Any pointers? With best regards. Interested in helping Nouveau
Hi everyone, I know there's a TODO page on the wiki, but it's kind of old (may), and it doesn't really indicate priorities. I'm currently running a P4 (presler) with a GeForce 6600. The family gaming macine is being upgraded soon (hopefully before the end of the month, it keeps getting put off). When th...

Skill-based routing
Hello, does anybody know about an existing skill-based routing solution for asterisk? I found only some theoretical documents on voip-info.org. I would like to have finer control over who can get which call in which order. Example: Several operators with several topics. Each operator may have a given knowledge-base for given topic. Topics may be weighted in question of complexity as well. Some

[LLVMdev] JVM bytecode generation vs. LLVM
...from Java. * Not being a true Eclipse expert, wrapping LLVM binaries as Eclipse plugins. Eclipse expects plugins to be available for download via HTTP, with some XML that describes dependencies. Setting this up would be easy, getting the details right would be work. That's just my specific skillset, other language designers might have different ones, but I guess it is not very likely that the exact right combination will come up easily. There aren't many people around who're experts in C++, Java, and Eclipse. Oh, and the question I'm having is: Is LLVM for me? Regards, Jo

Another Fedora decision
...a, and relax a spell....maybe fire up the old Altix box for a space heater and get nice and toasty warm or something.... Sysadmins are still around; the areas in which sysadmins are needed and the skills sysadmins need to have are just changing, that's all. TV repairmen still exist; their skillset just is very different today than what it was a few years back. High-end LED/LCD and plasma TV's are still expensive enough to merit servicing, which most of the time involves module changing, service-remote-driven diagnostic menus, and similar. I still remember needing diddlesticks to do...

Entourage on Dovecot 09.11, is 1.0-test the answer?
...appears to only carry released versions, is there a source for -test ones? * Is there something trivial I'm overlooking in trying to build dovecot-1.0-test52? I'm assuming I'm missing /usr/include/openssl/kssl.h, is this correct? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I was pushing my skillset getting pop-before-smtp working. While I'm good at following directions and learning from them I'm just that; learning. -- Michael <michael at michaelmaggard.com>
