More files randomly corrupted
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Still having that problem with samba seemingly corrupting files, it seems to be the same files that are corrupted again and again, yet they are corrupted differently and sometimes not. I ran my md5 summer against one file ch02.pdf, and it almost contineously corrupts, I checked in a hex editor and there are some differences. Yet the problem is that

2000 and XP cannot join PDC, (but NT can)
I'm running Samba 2.2.3a-12, on Debian 3.0r0, kernel: 2.2.20. I am trying to get my machines to join the domain, but alas nothing has worked so far. My XP and 2000 machine give different errors (but upon changing the Domain name to something other than the set one a different error appears). 2000 and XP asks for a user/pass that has permission on joining the domain. Which account is it? I

Files being read are corrupted on Samba 2.2.3a
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 When I read a file off the file system it gets corrupted, but when I write to it its fine, it always seems to affect the same files. But there is no pattern in the file names. I am checking the MD5's after being written by FTP and then by Samba, and reading them by FTP and Samba, again. Any ideas? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG

Log: read failure for 4.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've been fairly vocal on the samba news groups recently due to a problem with one of my machines, in terms of reading files poorly. I had forgotten that my other machine had some problems as well. The other machines problems and this seems intermitiant, that accessing a file over long periods of time (like a movie) would cause the stream to stop,

Samba not utilizing full available bandwidth
I recently upgraded a part of my network to Gigabit ethernet, basically between my Linux machine and my main windows machine, is now gigabit. The problem is that, and the whole reason I went with it, is to get faster speeds with samba. I've only been able to get 13.4 MB/s as a maximum transfer speed. I don't expect to be able to get 125 MB/s. If I use HTTP I can get around 18 MB/s,

No Mr. Samba, you are incorrect I do NOT need to change my password
Basically I migrated my NT4 server to Samba 3 recently. Long story short one of the 'secondary accounts' seems to get prompted to change his password even with the X set. One of my other accounts seems fine: Unix username: SJr NT username: SJr Account Flags: [UX ] Logon time: Wed, 01 Jun 2005 23:59:57 GMT Logoff time: Sat, 08 May 2004

Cannot add Domain Groups to Local Groups (D Users OK)
I have searched the globe but alas I can't come up with a solution. I am running Debian 3.0r0 with samba 2.2.3a12-3 (or something around there) and Kernel 2.4.18. Basically I am trying to add a Domain Group to a Local Group, but when I do I get an error (From Windows 2000): "A member could not be added to or removed from the local group because the member does not exist"
