vq diffs
please add the following diffs to the vorbis/vq dir.
- include files changed so things actually compile in new scheme
- _ogg_...alloc cleanups caught a half-dozen typos or so
- minor Makefile touchup.
(stuff is still not tested, but this will compile at least)
Would someone with cvs write access commit them for me please?

[PATCH 4/6] hdt: fix sizeof(char *) misuse
The code was passing sizeof(char *) - not the length of the buffer - to
memset. Change the function to take the length of the buffer as a
parameter.
Fixes the warning: argument to 'sizeof' in 'memset' call is the same
expression as the destination; did you mean to provide an explicit
length?

dovecot-1.2.12 fails to build on Solaris 8 and 10
configure fails with :
configure: error: Unsupported off_t type
I am not too sure what off_t is needed but this is a pretty standard thing.
My configure line :
./configure --build=i386-pc-solaris2.10 --host=i386-pc-solaris2.10
--prefix=/opt/csw --with-zlib --with-ssl=openssl
--with-storages=mbox,maildir --with-libiconv-prefix=/opt/csw
Yes, the openssl libs are in /opt/csw/lib

[PATCH 11/18] lib82596: convert to dma_alloc_noncoherent
Use the new non-coherent DMA API including proper ownership transfers.
This includes moving the DMA helpers to lib82596 based of an ifdef to
avoid include order problems.

[PATCH 23/28] lib82596: convert from dma_cache_sync to dma_sync_single_for_device
Use the proper modern API to transfer cache ownership for incoherent DMA.
Note that this moves the DMA helpers to the main lib82596.c file, so
that they can use virt_to_dma.

murmurhash3 test failures on big-endian systems
Hi,
The dovecot 2.3.0.1 Debian package currently fails to build on all
big-endian architectures[1], due to murmurhash3 tests failing. The
relevant output from e.g. s390x is:
test-murmurhash3.c:22: Assert(#8) failed: memcmp(result, vectors[i].result, sizeof(result)) == 0
test-murmurhash3.c:22: Assert(#11) failed: memcmp(result, vectors[i].result, sizeof(result)) == 0

[PATCH 11/17] sgiseeq: convert to dma_alloc_noncoherent
Use the new non-coherent DMA API including proper ownership transfers.
This includes adding additional calls to dma_sync_desc_dev as the
old syncing was rather ad-hoc.
Thanks to Thomas Bogendoerfer for debugging the ownership transfer
issues.

is this null block OK?
Hi,
A system running ext3 crashed this afternoon (nothing to do with ext3, bad
network driver). Is was saving a file from emacs when it happened. The
file system is 0.06b and had ordered data as the mount option. Let me
emphasize this was running ext3 pure, not with SnapFS or InterMezzo layered
on top of it.

xmalloc(foo*bar) -> xcalloc(foo, bar) for Portable
Hi All.
While wandering in auth-pam.c I noticed that there's a few Portable-specific
escapees from the xmalloc(foo * bar) cleanup.
There's also a "probably can't happen" integer overflow in
ssh-rand-helper.c with the memset:
num_cmds = 64;
- entcmd = xmalloc(num_cmds * sizeof(entropy_cmd_t));
+ entcmd = xcalloc(num_cmds, sizeof(entropy_cmd_t));

[PATCH v4 7/8] virtio/s390: use DMA memory for ccw I/O and classic notifiers
Before virtio-ccw could get away with not using DMA API for the pieces of
memory it does ccw I/O with. With protected virtualization this has to
change, since the hypervisor needs to read and sometimes also write these
pieces of memory.
The hypervisor is supposed to poke the classic notifiers, if these are
used, out of band with regards to ccw I/O. So these need to be allocated
as DMA memory

[PATCH 0/4] efi: PE header generation fix
The PE headers of the generated efi file were quite buggy. And since OVMF
perform a few consistency checks, syslinux was unable to run on it. I don't
pretend to have a thorough understanding of the PE+ headers, some bugs may
remain. :)

[PATCH 2/4] efi: Location, size and alignment of .text section
In the generated PE file, the section header for the .text section used
to address more than the whole file. Starting at offset 0 (before the
end of the headers) is illegal and is rejected by OVMF. Giving a size
greater than the actual file size is also illegal and rejected.
Moreover, the actual data inside the PE file have to be aligned to at
least 512 bytes. Hence, .text need to be aligned as

problem reading Matlab file into R
Hi,
I'm trying to read a .mat file into R (2.11.1) with medium success so far. The file I have is a MATLAB 5.0 MAT-file exported from RiverSurveyor LIVE software (http://www.sontek.com/software.php). I have R.matlab and Rcompression installed and readMat() starts reading the file, as can be seen in verbose mode (hence medium success), but then gives the following error:
Error in dim(matrix)

[PATCH] virtio_mmio: fix endian-ness for mmio
Going over the virtio mmio code, I noticed that it doesn't correctly
return device config values in LE format when using virtio 1.0.
Borrow code from virtio_pci_modern to do this correctly.

Note: untested: QEMU doesn't support virtio 1.0 for virtio-mmio.
Pawel, could you please confirm this patch makes sense?
