[PATCH V2 1/2] Add new flush_iotlb_range and handle freelists when using iommu_unmap_fast
Add a flush_iotlb_range to allow flushing of an iova range instead of a
full flush in the dma-iommu path.
Allow the iommu_unmap_fast to return newly freed page table pages and
pass the freelist to queue_iova in the dma-iommu ops path.
This patch is useful for iommu drivers (in this case the intel iommu
driver) which need to wait for the ioTLB to be flushed before newly
free/unmapped page table

[PATCH 4/8] iommu: Handle freelists when using deferred flushing in iommu drivers
Allow the iommu_unmap_fast to return newly freed page table pages and
pass the freelist to queue_iova in the dma-iommu ops path.
This is useful for iommu drivers (in this case the intel iommu driver)
which need to wait for the ioTLB to be flushed before newly
free/unmapped page table pages can be freed. This way we can still batch
ioTLB free operations and handle the freelists.

[PATCH] Add a cache for iconv_t handles to hive_t
It was brought to my attention that dumping a registry hive causes a
lot of time spent in disk I/O activity because iconv_open() and
iconv_close() are called for every key. Every iconv_open() call causes
/usr/lib/.../gconv/$ENCODING.so to be opened and mapped.
The iconv_t handles are now cached in the hive_h struct; they are
opened on-demand and re-used.
On my ~10 year old Lenovo T60, I have

[LLVMdev] size_t?
I believe that we provide a definition of size_t inside the compiler itself
when clang is in MSVC compatibility mode.

[LLVMdev] Deduplication of memory allocation
Hi,
Even though this question does not only concern LLVM, it seems that only compilers guru can answer it. So I am giving a try here, hoping for the best.
In a recent talk by Chandler Carruth, “Performance with algorithms, efficiency with data structures” ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHNmRkzxHWs <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHNmRkzxHWs> ), Chandler says that one should never

[LLVMdev] size_t?
We inject a typedef for size_t here:
http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/cfe/trunk/lib/Sema/Sema.cpp?revision=218230&view=markup#l206
The typedef type is determined by calling getSizeType().
SizeType is (relevantly) calculated in two places:
X86_64

[PATCH 0/2] 'int' to 'size_t' changes
These two patches are probably not completely independent, but
separating them is a lot of work.
With *both* patches applied, all the tests and extra-tests pass.
That's no guarantee however that there isn't a mistake, so I don't
think this patch is a candidate for the 1.16 branch, until it's had a
lot more testing in development.
Rich.
