Three sigma rule
Dear Sir, I have data, coming from tests, consisting of 300 values. Is there a way in R with which I can confirm this data to 68-95-99.8 rule or three-sigma rule? I need to look around percentile ranks and prediction intervals for this data. I, however, used SixSigma package and used ss.ci() function, which produced 95% confidence intervals. I still am not certain about percentile ranks conforming to 68-95-99.7 rule for this data. Thanks and regards, Salil Sharma [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Performing gage R&R study in R w/more than 2 factors
...on that lets you include up to eight additional factors besides the usual two that are present in gage studies (parts and operators). If I wanted to include n additional random factors, is there a package or built-in functionality that will allow me to do that? I've been experimenting with the SixSigma package, and that has a ss.rr method which works great---as long as your experiment only contains two factors. I've also been using lmer from lme4 to fit a linear model of my experiment, but the standard deviations generated by lmer don't match what I'm seeing in Minitab. Since all my f...

Variability plot in R
Is there a package in R that can do a variability plot? A variability plot is a kind of categorized dot plot. (If there is a lot of data in each category, box plots are used rather than dot plots.) Usually, the categories are factor level combinations. All the dot plots appear in the same window; below the x-axis a hierarchy of factors shows which dot plot corresponds to which factor-level
