v1.0.0 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.0.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.0.tar.gz.sig
It took almost 5 years, but it's finally ready. I'm not expecting to
release v1.0.1 anytime soon, unless someone's been sitting on a major
bug just waiting for v1.0 to be released. :)
People wanting new features should start testing the upcoming v1.1.

EVERYONE USING DOVECOT PLEASE SIGN: Thanks, Administrators of Dovecot!
...ters, would sincerely like to thank the
developers of Dovecot. For, if it were not for you, we would be stuck
with Courier and would not have the impressive features of Sieve, as
opposed to the unmanageable scripts, by end users, of maildrop.
*Our gratitude goes to, but not limited to:*
*Timo Sirainen and Charles Marcus*
*We apologize if we have missed anyone and ask that EVERYONE using
dovecot would express their thanks and gratitude by signing this thread,
to also include any people beyond the mentioned.*
Please, Mr. Sirainen, make a donation link as we have tried to find one
on dovecot....

Mailing list's prefix
Do you think I'd break a lot of people's filters if I removed the
prefix? :) Anyone strongly for/against removing it? It seems kind of
annoying to me whenever I happen to think about it.

Binary locations
Where do you think the following binaries should be installed to? The
possible locations are:
- bin/
- sbin/
- libexec/dovecot/ (or lib/dovecot/ in most Linux distros)
So the binaries are:
1) These probably belong to bin/ or sbin/ or both:
- authtest
- dovecotpw
- doveadm
2) Binaries that you might want to call from mail_executable setting:
- rawlog
- gdbhelper
3) Index file dumping

I've moved to US
I thought about saying this in v1.2.beta1 release annoouncement, but
looks like it'll take a few more days. So I've moved to Blacksburg,
Virginia and I'm now working for Mailtrust the rest of this year. Here's
some talk about it:

Version numbering
After v1.0 is released, I can finally get back to sane version numbers.
But any comments on which one is better:
a) Postfix-style: "1.1.UNSTABLE.YYYYMMDD" -> 1.1.0 (stable)
b) Odd-even numbering: 1.1.x (unstable) -> 1.2.0 (stable)
With a) style the releases could be done by simply copying a nightly
snapshot to releases/ directory and announcing the changes since the

Copyright notices in code
I thought about committing this change to all .c files:
Removed all Copyright Timo Sirainen comments. They weren't always
correct and the year numbers were rarely updated when something was
changed. Copyright is owned by the creator by default in practically all
countries, there's no need to advertise it everywhere.
Can anyone think of reasons why this wouldn't be a good ide...

doveadm with multiple commands
This has been in my TODO for a while and today I implemented it (but didn't dare to test it yet :) So the problem has been that you want to run for example:
doveadm expunge -A mailbox Trash savedbefore 7d
doveadm purge -A
This is annoying because it scans through the users' mailboxes twice, wasting disk IO and CPU. So how to make it do the scan only once? The syntax I thought of today
