Rsync sincronize complete file and not the changes
Hi,
i have probed rsync for sinchronize files beetwen windows 2000 Server
and Linux server.
I have mounted the windows directory with samba and i have executed
rsync with -avr parameters to sinchronize the files.
After sinchronization i have opened one file but i didn't made any
change but openned date of the file.
I have relaunched sinchronization and the file is completely
sinchronized and

A secondary domain controller for remote clients
Hello
I have a samba PDC in an office with folder redirection.
The people wants to access their files remotely, so i have set up a
simple
hamachi VPN.
The clients can connect and sinchronize their files, but its extremely
slow.
Is it posible to make a second samba server in a high speed datacenter
sinchronized with the office one?
Can anyone give me some info about how to do that?
Thank you

Samba4 implementation
Hi,
I would like to ask you for your samba4 implementations. As we are thinking
to install samba4 we would like to know if somebody has a similar structure
and load, and know about the performance.
We have about 22 centers with 2 samba4 servers for domain, ldap and dns.
Each center must serve about 5k domain clients with 5k workstations and
servers in the center. The number of domain clients

Statistics about rsync "downloads" from server
Hello,
we're running an rsync on a server and would like to know how many
people are downloading (sinchronizing) the files from server
(something like a list with "timestamp, IP, exact request, bytes
transferred"). What is the easiest way to do it? I have tried to
search for "rsync statistics", but that's a bad choice to ask a search
engine for.
Thanks a lot.

Sound card problem in acoustic echo cancellation
From: Steve Underwood <steveu at coppice.org>

Do common on-board or PCI sound card lock to some incoming signal?
Yes, there is a crystal oscillator and a PLL or divider to

Sound card problem in acoustic echo
Hi all,
The conclusion of the discussion is that most sound cards indeed have
different capture and playing frequencies for the unknown reasons.
But we all know the adaptive filter of the AEC relies on the synchronization
of the far-end and near-end sampling rates.
Then Has anybody tried to use speex AEC in Windows system? How do you
solve this problem?
(I have tested speex AEC. In most

A question about BDC's
Hi, i have a samba server as PDC in my office.
Now, some co-workers wants to access their files from outside.
Making a VPN does not work because my office has a crappy connection.
Is it possible to install a BDC in a datacenter for the remote people?

Is possible? --- reposting + new
Hi.
I'm trying to find a solution for our windows clients. I will explain my
situation.
We have kerberos 5 (mit) kdc, openafs without kaserver (authentication
using kerberos), openldap, everything on debian stable servers. What do
our unix/linux clients do? They authenticate over kerberos (pam), gain
tickets and consequently gain the afs token (krb5afs or
openafs_session), call ldap and

Sound card problem in acoustic echo cancellation
Then why ONE sound card have different capture and playback rate?
It must be ONE single physical clock generator which is used by both ADC and DAC
in the sound card, isn't it?
If you are a hardware engineer. Will you design two different physical clock for
ADC and DAC seperately?
What on earth causes this problem? Who knows its intrinsic real reason?
Isn't there any other solutions?

9.1 minimal ram requirements
Guys, I've heard about some absurd RAM requirements
for 9.1, has anybody tested it?
