Isolation and time
(Moving from offlist discussion.)
I''m interested in opinions... Assume there are four
single vcpu domains A, B, C, D, running on a 2-CPU
physical machine. We wish to test for time skew on
domain A. Assuming B, C, and D are all running
some workload that attempts to fully saturate the
(single) cpu.
1) Should the affect on domain A be essentially the
same regardless of what load

Problem with xen on Centos-4.4?
I am running a Xen installation on a Centos-4.4 based test box, my desktop
unit, and I am having intermittent problems installing certain pieces of
software. Some time back I posted to this list regarding my inability to
install Adobe Acrobat on this unit and was advised to essentially
repackage the software and try again. This is beyond my present means of
knowledge or time to acquire same and

On RHEL 8, you need to be aware that there are "crypto policies"
modifying sshd's behaviour, and it would likely be the *preferred*
method to inject your intended config changes *there* (unless they

nut package with Riello UPS support
Hello list,
I have explored https://github.com/networkupstools/nut repository
and found that Riello UPS added into list of supported UPS.
But current package for most distribution it's nut-2.6.5 which
doesn't have Riello's models.
Do we need to wait next upcoming nut release to get start with Riello?
I tried to install from source but stuck:

[BUG] boot failure since syslinux-3.00
Hi,
This AMD Elan board seems to be very problematic:
http://www.embeddedarm.com/products/board-detail.php?product=TS-5500
I'm having various issues with booting recent Linux kernels with syslinux.
syslinux-2.13 was the last version that worked and since syslinux-3.00
it doesn't work.
When it doesn't work all I get is "Boot failed" from the bootsector. Since

Call file problem, DelayedRetry/retrying spite MaxRetries: 0
I am using Realtime extensions as well, in case that would matter.
Following problem arises from time to time, a call will successfully

Hello,
I have a card here at the office that I'm trying to validate with some
tests. For now I've followed the instructions available here:
http://kb.digium.com/articles/Configuration/Back-to-Back-Pattern-Test-for-BRI-Adapters

I get this kind of output:

[heads up] axing AppleTalk and IPX/SPX
Hello!
[Cc to stable@, for wider audience]
The plan is two axe two old networking protocols from FreeBSD head/,
meaning that FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE, available in couple of years would
be shipped without them.
1) AppleTalk
Last time claimed to be supported by vendor in 2007[1]. In practice
had very little use since 90th.
Discontinued by major routing equipment vendors since 2009[2].

Hello, we are receiving some data, sample below - with a weird time/date
stamp format, we need some help with R on converting this time date
stamp to a useable field in R, date and time in a data-frame. The
developer says its the number of milliseconds since midnight, January 1,
1970.

feature transfer on PRI
I am having a problem with the tranfer function since changing our t1 to
PRI. I used to be able to answer a forwarded call to my cell phone, then
transfer the call back using ## (we have it set to ## in features.conf).
Since the update it does not work most of the time. At lunch today I had
a call and could not get it to transfer. The logs show asterisk getting

php 5.6 on CentOS 6
I am in the process of moving various apps and data off a CentOS 6 server to a new server running CentOS 7. As part of the migration process I need to upgrade an app and corresponding data files which requires php 5.6. I do have php 5.5 (and 5.4) installed since earlier but now tried to install php 5.6 from SCL which failed.

Printing permissions problem
OK, I just took my first non-root user live on my Samba 3.0.7 system.
Printing is via cups, with drivers stored in the print$ share. This user is
a local power user. She can add printers, or root can add them. Root can
also print from them. If this user tries to print anything (a test page
even) she gets a non-verbose error that looks like a permissions error. She
can view the queues
