Redhat 7.3 as CentOS 5 domU
Hello,
What is the simpliest way to run Redhat 7.3 server as CentOS 5 domU?
I see that Xen emulates Intel PIIX ATA controller for HVM domUs but
latest kernel of Redhat 7.3 (2.4.20-20.7smp) has no ata_piix kernel
module yet. Is it possible to download it somewhere or there is
another way? :)
And I'd like to avoid rein...

maildir to sdbox offline conversion
...ata/vmail/domain/user
sdbox:/newdata/vmail/domain/user
without touching the ldap database, only the files on the disk. I can run
this command as root on this mail server, if it is needed, I can run the
command for each and every maildir. That's not a problem.
any ideas, how this woul?d be the simpliest?

attribute or instance method or what?
Hi!
Uhm are attributes just something like additional members of a class,
other than those that come from the names of columns in the table?
I''ve got images table, which has ''name'' column. I''ve added support for
creating thumbnails out of uploaded pictures and i''d like to have an
easy way of accessing them in my views.
How to do it? I.e. my image

Newbie: confusion with the new FXO/FXS card
...via ISDN. Sorry if i'm not writing this very
clearly, since my telecomunication skills are appaling (I'm used to
linux though).
As documentation states, Rhino R8FXX can work as FXO or as FXS depending
on the modules installed. How about my situation? At first, I would like
to set up a simpliest thing - to make phone do anything (play WAV, echo,
etc.) Does anyone show me the road how to do it? A link to some manual
or such...
I tried googling, but have found no results (or didn't knew, that the
info was good for me). This is my first Asterisk server and I'm very

Testing HVM domU SBS2003 virtualization
...I have internet on HVM DomU... but
on dom0 I have full speed 1.6 Megabytes/s on domU I had only 256 kilobytes/s
When I switch to gplpv windows drivers I get speed boost and now have 450
kilobytes/s
But it''s still long way to 100% bandwidth :(
What I do wrong... bridge sounds/looks the simpliest the fastest sollution
I am alone on router and have full speed on dom0 what happen on dom0 in this
really simple configuration
I''m scarred that serverr come and I install production environment it will
be slow to. Any ideas ?
I try squeeze dom0 with squeeze hvm domU the speed is so slow...

Convert components of a list to separate columns in a data frame or matrix XXXX
Hello everyone,
What is the most efficient & simpliest way to convert all components of a
list to separate columns in a matrix?
Is there an easy way to programmatically "pad" the length of the resulting
shorter character vectors so that they can be easily combined into a data
frame?
I have the following code that stores the 2 compoents (of...

Sound quality issue
...blem, everything is fine on the network.
Our MPLS provider does all check on his network equipments, everything
is fine too, no packets loss recorded on routers's interfaces ect ...
We have, on our side, check and replace all the VOIP equipments (spare
rocks), an reduce the configuration to its simpliest (MPLS router <=>
ethernet cable <=> VOIP equipment), quality problem still there.
I am sure there are RTP packets losses somewhere, except RTP debug in
the asterisk CLI, how can i determine where the problem come from ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thx.

RFC: Improving performance of HashString
...n if those worse hash
functions will lead to more collisions, the overall speed advantage beats
the slightly worse quality. See e.g. A Seven-Dimensional Analysis of
Hashing Methods and its Implications on Query Processing for a concise
overview of the best hash table strategies, confirming that the simpliest
Mult hashing (bernstein, FNV*, x17, sdbm) always beat "better" hash
functions (Tabulation, Murmur, Farm, ...) when used in a hash table.
The fast hash functions tested here are recommendable as fast for file

Some hint on migration from a set of NT4 domains to an AD domain...
...g stuff.
But after reading here by some month, and most notably after
understanding that:
a) it is better to have the AD DC role in a machine on their own.
b) all my UID/GID are ''wrong'' (low), better have to be remapped.
c) i can still use domains, in an AD forest, but the simpliest things
is to manage different OU in a single domain
I'm really thinking of throwing all my 4 domains, simply
moving/importing users using sets of non-overlapping UID/GID, and
moving users from old domains to OU.
Clearly, i've to do some more work (eg, prepare set of script to move

Interpreting GLM coefficients
Hi all,
I?m fitting GLM?s and I can?t interprete the coefficients when I run a

When I run the simpliest model there is no problem:

Kind.Fishers + Zone.2 + Hours + Fishers + Month, family =
poisson(log)) # Fishes, Year, Hours, and Fishers are numeric,
Kind.Geographic, Kind.Fishers, Zone.2 and Month are factors with 4, 3,

Unable to upload printer drivers
...you have to install them on a windows box, and
then smbclient/rpcclient them in samba (see samba docs, manual driver
installation). Note that some load, but still does not work.
Some other also have a plethora of CABs, and you have to expand (some
of) them to have driver loaded.
Try at first the simpliest driver, eg 'PCL5', not the 'UNIDRIVER' one,
possibly getting the from drivers archives.
Good luck. ;)

force xen to patch a specific kernel version
Hi,
I''m currently using a VDS where uname said: 2.6.18.8-xenU ...
I need lo build the fuse module, with no support and no access to original
kernel build/source.
I have downloaded xen-3.4.0 and run make linux-2.6-xenU-build, but this
method (which looks simpliest) said "Unable to determine path to Linux
source tree." and then is directly downloading a kernel on xenbits. But, to
be exactly compliant with the dom0, i need kernel in ".8" correction.
How can I be sure of that. If I''am rigth, xen pathes linux kernel. Is it
possible t...
