Winbind Problems
Hello
I hope someone can help me out. I have setup samba Version 3.0.0 to
work with LDAP and winbind.
I can join the domain with a Win2k client but if I try to login it
fails. When I try to view the users of the domain I can't but I can
see the groups from the Win2k client.
The problem is that wbinfo -g reports correctly
[root@ldap samba]# wbinfo -g

Hello everyone.
Im not sure what is wrong here, but I cant seem to figure out why one of my

Running on RH 8.0, samba 2.2.7a. (Planning on upgrading eventually)
Anyway, one user for some reason, cannot access the share through his
network neighborhood icon.

Making winbindd and pam_mount play nice together (2nd try)
We're trying to set up linux based workstations that use a win2k AD/DC for
authentication, and pam_mount to mount a share as the user's home directory.
It looks like winbind isn't passing on the credentials (although it is
getting us logged in). If anyone has made this work, I'd love the details.
It looks like winbind isn't passing the auth information

Unable to join ADS domain
I've installed Samba 3.0.2 (from the source) on a SuSE
8.2 system with MIT Kerberos 1.3.1 (I uninstalled the
Heimdal code) and the OpenLDAP 2.1.27 development
libraries installed on it. I want to make this system
a domain member of a Win2K native-mode ADS domain but
can't get "net ads join" to work. I've run "kinit

Winbind and pam_mkhomdedir problem
I have managed to join my samba server to an AD domain. I use winbind as
an authenticator and pam_mkhomedir creates dirs on the fly. How do I get
the users in windows to be able to access their files.
Kind REgards
