kernel oplocks
I am a little bit confused about the kernel support for oplocks.
man page of smb.conf:

For UNIXs that support kernel based oplocks (currently only IRIX but
hopefully also Linux and FreeBSD soon) this parameter allows the use
of them to be turned on or off.
This parameter defaults to "On" on systems that have the support, and
"off" on systems that don't.

...I have
about 30 shares, one of them wich holds an
ms-dos based fox-pro application. Everything
works ok, except that application that get
run from the share. Symptoms are: painfuly
slow for running that program, program wich
on 2.0.4b samba blew everything away, and
never making multiple users work
simoultaneousely.
My (uneducated) guess is that it has to do
with locks/oplocks, because the second (and,
for that matter, third, etc...) user trying
to run this program concurently never got to
do it (it gave the users some error messages
from foxpro, not allways the same).I know the
