Booting from an external USB drive?
Is it possible?
Booting the installer from the CD works, finds the USB drive, and
allows me to put the root filesystem on it. I put the /boot partition
on the internal hard drive and installed GRUB in the boot record of
that partition.
GRUB shows the menu and begins booting, but eventually fails with the
error that /dev/sda5 (the external partition) does not exist.

I have same trouble my computer freeze, I can mouve mouse but nothing else. in

"Error 0" bug tracked halfway. Help needed
...f a long file, and it's always 1-skip 2-3.
Besides, I was monitoring the packets from another PC via tcpdump-smb,
and,
from what I understood from its output, the picture is the same.
Smbmount works fine.
OK. Any ideas?

Installing TOO USB Drive
Greetings CentOS Fans.
I'm working on an Inspiron 9400 Laptop. It supports booting from USB
devices, so I'd like to install CentOS on a USB hard drive as an
alternative to XP.
I tried booting to the 4.3 (disk 1) CD, but it doesn't see the USB Drive
when it gets to the stage of partitioning... any idea what's involved in
getting the USB drive recognized so I can install
