Client had recoverable error
Mhhh. I am streaming from a 8mbit adsl connection so it should be fast
enough. I tried streaming with media player, it's working for 24 hours now,
doesn't seem to have the problem, is my winamp 5.03 broken? Or is winamp
broken in general? :)
Thanks for the help.

build the "or blank" condition into my regular expression, but I''m certain
that can''t be the best way to do it? Surely this should be an easy thing to
do? Perhaps someone could help?
Many thanks in advance,

writing my own generator
Hi all,
I wanted to write my own generator. What would be a good starting point.
Is there any documentation on this, Best practices, etc?

Is there anyway to make Rails NOT cache?
Is there anyway to make Rails NOT cache? I''m getting caching in the
browser and the server.
I have to restart Lighttpd after every view change to see the results.

Asynchronous Encryption?
...I could compile 0.3.x

Essentially I''m looking for something along the lines of PGP (GPG) or similar,
but any form of reasonably strong asynchronous encryption will do.

Date Validation: The February 31st Problem

obvious thing to include in the Rails core - that date processing should
automatically make sure entered dates are properly valid dates. Or is it not
as simple as that? (I guess not, otherwise it would have been done by now.)

Global functions and variables.
Hey People,
I''m fairly new to Rails and have perhaps an obvious question. I would like
to know if there is a place that I can declare variables and methods that
are globally available to all controllers. My main reason for this is I like
to auto generate select boxes based off of the contents of a hash and would
like to be able to do this in all views in all controllers, so that I do not

inodes 100% full, how do I know?
How can you know beforehand, without running fsck, that all inodes are used
of a particular ext3 filesystem? Default systemtools use output from df,
which shows only a 50% usage of the filesystem, and pretend nothing is
wrong, while you really cant't move or copy a file to it. So I only found
out when running fsck.
This is my output from fsck (RH7.2, stock kernel, stock? ext3):
