I think I figured out how to get wine to run the .net framework very well
I have recently heard about the silverlight project. The silverlight project is a plugin released by Microsoft for Linux that allows the use of .Net based apps on Linux. My only disagreement with using this plugin is the fact that Microsoft has been accessing XP and Vista systems without permission and changing software as stated by ZDnet. T...

C#/Silverlight port of Speex echo canceller
Background: I'm working on a web conferencing application hosted in
Silverlight, and we desperately need an echo canceller. A while back,
someone made a Java port of Speex (JSpeex), which was later ported to C#
(CSpeex). However, those are based on an older version of the Speex code,
and while they seem to interoperate just fine with the latest official
release, they don'...

I was wondering if there are any equivalents to flash/silverlight or
flex (would ajax be an equivalent?) for ROR? for creating RIAs?

theora video plugin ? videolan plugin?
hi, I'm Alexander a
just a question ? is there a reason why there shouldn't be a web
player for theora in Mozilla FireFox ? or Internet explorer ? I'm thinking
to compile videolan player with theora support only and enable the web
plugin interface, it would replace the cortado player and possibly provide a
better alternative to flash video plugin in linux when somebody starts a

Can Wine run .NET WPF applications?
When trying to run a sample .NET WPF application (that I wrote, just a
simple Hello World) I get the following message:
wine: Install Mono 2.8 or greater for Windows to run .NET 4.0 applications.
However, Mono cannot run WPF applications. Can I force Wine to run it?
Does Wine support WPF? This is with Wine 1.3.28 on the latest Kubuntu.
Thanks.

Re: Silverlight Application in Wine
The first thing I did was complaining. And I will continue to do so.
I am using Wine 1.1.35 on Mac OS. And the log file has the following entries. I
could not find an entry for posting logs in the FAQ. So I am pasting it here.
Hope it is OK.
Fontconfig error: line 1: no element found
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

If you register your station they have a free player, which seems to work really well - I thought only Flash but looking at the code it seems to be HTML based?might be wrong, but I couldn't find any SWF or Silverlight in the code.
Hope this helps

AEC learning behaviour
Hello,
We've integrated the speex echo canceller into PulseAudio, and coupled
with the AGC/denoiser, it works reasonably well and has been a breeze to
plug in, so thank you!
One thing we're seeing, though, is that the canceller seems to take some
time (a few seconds) to "learn", so initially the echo is clearly
audible and it slowly fades out. This sometimes occurs in the middle

herky-jerky audio
Just an update, and a follow-up question:
I'm making progress on this issue, and will likely have something working
very soon, now that I understand how the jspeex transcoding classes work.
Unfortunately, I will need to make a couple small changes to the jspeex
source code.
My question is - is anybody using jspeex for streaming speex-encoded audio?
It works great for static audio, but seems

OT:Selling Data Mining Cloud-A Concept
...ncrypted data transfers
to and fro from the remote cloud.PGP.com would be of help here
Pay for bandwidth, and cost + small markup for the cloud hosting costs.
Economies of scale will ensue.
R's graphical system is superior than than SAS, but it can be tweaked to
newer graphical softwares like Silverlight.
The little guy no longer needs to squeeze himself for the big computing
power.
I could be totally wrong here, but it may be worth a shot.
