samba authenticates only against the primary group of a user?
...is a non welcoming behaviour that can only be tackled by allowing
@everyone to have read access to the shares - unwelcomed too.
So finally is there a way to make samba try and authenticate a user against
ALL of his groups (and not just the primary one)?
Thank you very much for your help

how to access public shares without password even when security = user

application to control my Eaton UPS.
I am on a Slackware 13.37 system with a 2.6.37.6 kernel. NUT version is
2.4.3 .
I installed the tarball by compiling it directly on my system (as a
slackbuild package).
The UPS is an Eaton Powerware 9155, but I don't know how to obtain the
manufacturing date. The

accessing samba shares from a winpc sometimes as a readonly user and sometimes with writing abilities
hello everyone.
i am trying to setup samba and there is a whole lot of option in doing
things.. so i got somewhat overloaded:)
the idea is that i want in my home network to setup a file server running
samba (its a slackware v11 machine)
and have all my music/video/office files on the server..
now, from a windows side i know that when u log onto a pc you will probably
be asked to input a passwd.
