Has anyone found an inexpensive E&M trunk card that will play with *? Looking for an interface to a legacy electromechanical PBX that's able to pass answer supervision. Docs on the X100P card would be helpful, we could probably pull E&M out of that. Any ideas?

I'm proposing an asterisk configuration and considering the use of multiport SIP/FXS gateways (instead of T1 cards and channel banks). I'm looking for products similar in function to the Cisco ATA-186, but with more ports. I am finding that I have to increase the txgain in zapata.conf to 8 when my X101P is connected to my BT phone line, otherwise people can hardly hear me. This then gives echo issues. Do other people have the same problem on BT lines. I was wondering if I should give BT a call and get them to increase the gain on the line. The syntax is beginning (just beginning) to make sense to me now, so I'm looking now to try and implement just a few items in the report descriptor, and then I figured I can progress from there if all goes well. Hello! Attached to the bottom of this e-mail is an edited version of an e-mail I originally wrote to Digium tech support regarding Ouch and Power alarm errors I have been receiving on my TDM400. It contains a great deal of detail regarding my setup. In the end, I have found that one of the 5 phones I'm trying to make work with Asterisk is contributing to the generation of these errors.
