Simple php script to monitor asterisk calls
...18005551212 talking to Receptionist It's pretty self explanatory I guess. Run it and hope it does stuff. so, pbxmonitor, in our application, is called from watch, like so: watch -t -n 1 pbxmonitor but you could implement it into a refreshing webpage or otherwise parse it for your needs. [sidenote] We use putty to connect to the asterisk box, and there's an account called monitor with a key login instead of password login, and the monitor user's .bashrc runs this watch line at startup, followed by an exit. I call tell putty to auto login a username, and via the command line, ma...

CentOS 9 Stream on Workstation with Ver. 1 x86_64 cpu
...after install -- kernel panic. Is there a way to recompile the kernel to handle the legacy cpu after install -- via some other live cd, perhaps? Due to the fact I can't reboot after install, I'm not able to build a kernel using the following: https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Custom_Kernel Sidenote: I'd also like to include support for btrfs too, but first things first. Thank you.

Recommended hardware for a firewall/router?
...four gigabit interfaces in the box, one of which will be the internet connection (so this one interface will use max. 10 mbit). Question is if any "normal" hardware will be able to handle this if most of the interfaces gets saturated? What chipset / motherboard should I go for? On a sidenote, I've noticed from the subject on some of the most recent messages that Bryans beeing hassled. I dunno what it's really about since I haven't read the messages, but I'd like to say that I consider Bryan to be a valuable asset to this list. Regards, Harald -------------- next p...

Updated status on UEFI compliant version of the pxechn-module
...rdware (Microsoft and others blame unworking features of the DHCP options, but in actuality the fault seems to lie the rather vague specification of PXE 2.1 as far as I can see). I just compiled up the 6.04-prerelease and can see that the pxechn-module has been removed from the two efi-trees. As a sidenote: the NEWS-file in the 6.04-prerelease is missing information about changes introduced in it (seems to be the file from 6.03). As another sidenote and possible separate thread: since I couldn't get UEFI to boot pxelinux 6.03 properly before I saw your dhcp options fix (vendor encapsulated opti...

...and added this Alias /report /var/lib/puppet/rrd/ <Directory /var/lib/puppet/rrd/> PassengerEnabled off Options Indexes Order deny, allow Allow from all </Directory> to the apache2 + passenger vhost definition. What have I missed? Or the screenshot is from trunk? Sidenote: I have also modified the metrics.rb to use the defualt rrd ruby bindings found in ubuntu 9.04. They seem to output the right stuff but :-?? this might be a cause :-?? Silviu -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. To post...

PDC/BDC Questions
...nnecessary nmb broadcast traffic. My question is this: Will the PDC / BDC(s), acting as master browsers for their segments, exchange netbios information (i.e. netbios names, browsing info, etc.) via nmb? Or do they exchange this information via tcp? Or at all for that matter? Also as a complete sidenote, what I think would be a nifty feature: (This would only be useful to those running an ldap backend (possibly mysql?) When setting an account to disabled, have an option to set the loginShell attribute to something, such as /sbin/nologin (Should be configurable of course). Should be a fairly triv...

Trouble Connecting Windows 8.1 RSAT to Samba Domain
...he refresh failed because WinRM is not running and could not be started." I have performed ipconfig /all on the Win 8.1 client and Samba4 box is listed in the "DNS Server" output. Does anyone know how to resolve the WinRM errors? -------------------------------------------------- Sidenote: I'm curious how many Samba4 domain admins choose to use the RSAT tools; or, whether most prefer to use samba-tool to config and manage the domain users, groups, and services. -------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your help.

A couple of little R things I can't figure out (column percents, regression with lagged variables)
...ssion of y on the lag of x. In sas you do xlag=lag(x) and then use xlag in a regresson. I just want something simple like lm(y~lag(x)). But in R base there's no lag. So I can get it the old fashioned way: > xx <- c(NA,x) > modl <- lm(y~xx[1:length(y)]) > summary(modl) One sidenote is that summary does not include any mention of the fact that 1 observation was lost due to missing value. That seems bad to me. I see the lag function in ts, but when I use it, it doesn't change x, so obviously I don't see the point of that. > z <- lag (x) > z [1] 1 3 1 3...

using noops from puppetrun

Here is the use case that I am working with. I would like to be able to run all puppe...

[LLVMdev] [lld] Handling a whole bunch of readers
...hardcode the limited set of extensions we use for YAML files, and only do > that with non-emulated drivers unless explicitly asked to do so? That model would be difficult to maintain and we already have the YAML file as a avaialable form of an external output file (output-filetype=yaml). On a sidenote, All of the readers would have a validation function that would check the architecture, which makes extensions highly unmanageable. Thanks Shankar Easwaran

Arguments to lm() within a function - object not found
...ula = ..1, weights = wts, drop.unused.levels = TRUE) 4: eval(expr, envir, enclos) 3: eval(mf, parent.frame()) 2: lm(weights = wts, ...) 1: wraplm(a ~ b) It seems like whatever environment lm is trying to eval wts in doesn't have it defined. Could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? As a sidenote, I do have a workaround, but this strikes me as really the wrong thing to do. I replace the call to lm with: eval(substitute(lm(weights = dummy,...),list(dummy=wts))) which works. Thanks Pete

Purging a large folder... anything I need to be careful of?
...y, my Thunderbird e-mail client only sees about 2.4G of that, and has "looped" a few times. What I mean is, I thought someone was cleaning the folder out, but Thunderbird apparently was actually just looping back to 0 every 4 gigs and starting to count up again Ha. But that's a sidenote. So, since Thunderbird apparently is not seeing all of the messages, what is the safest way to delete the files straight from the 'cur' folder? IS that safe? Will I mess up any of the dovecot indexes in any way?? Dave

gtasa
...i'm trying to run gtasa from my windows partiton (yes it is NTFS filesystem) and it keeps telling me that it couldn't find the sound card. So can someone tell me how to fix this issue to be able to run gtasa (so that i can then run mtasa (multi theft auto) ) That would be fantastic. On a sidenote, i am thinking of getting another hardrive (just a cheap, small one) and installing windows on a filesytem both linux and windows can read and write to and then using that as my wine folder, and istalling gtasa on that. Would this work and how do i go about doing it if it does. Thanx for your he...

Purchasing a Sangoma A102 - should I get the hw echo cancellation or not?
...orts will be used as a passthrough as we slowly transition off of a legacy PBX. Eventually, we'll only be using one of the ports, and will be providing VoIP service to a bunch of SIP deskphones. So - with that usage scenario in mind, is it worth the extra $800 for the echo cancellation? As a sidenote, I assume these cards are PRI-compatible, correct? Virus Protection

I looked at Trend ServerProtect (a closed-source & packaged product) but it has problems with multi-processor servers, and my server has dual processors. Any recommendations. Also as a sidenote, how does SAMBA work with SMP (multi-processors)? before before_validation callback
...lem with using before_validation is that it won''t fire if I''m not using validations with #save(:validate => false) - which makes sense. Before_save won''t suffice because I want these callbacks to fire before validation on the occasions that I do use validation. Just a sidenote, these callbacks are for normalizing some strings. Right now, I can do an alias chain on #save and have my sanitization methods fire before anything else but I was hoping for something cleaner.
