...ait for some time and maybe schedule a maintenance window.
We are currently seeing the rpc checks failing when the load is high. In that case most of the nfsd are in status D, too. So we think the underlying filesystem (gpfs) might cause some problems here. Still investigating.
Thank you!

We have gpfs, which does not offer a case-insensitive mode, neither does the vfs_gpfs module.

So I am wondering why the first two lookups always fail and/or obviously are never stored to the stat cache? Is there a depth limit in the stat cache?
smb.conf has
max stat cache size = 512
(BTW: Is there some way to gather statistics about the stat cache?)
Kind regards,

...commented everywhere.
I have never seen these settings in any of the ctdb guides that I know of.
So I am wondering about the correct setup. Should these values be set system wide? Should they be set at all? Are they still required with the current code base or kernels?

I have not tested it but the name of the two options does not seem that
it is the exact fix for this problem as this happens when _killing_ the
connection, see Descripton. While a timeout might kill the dangling
processes it will probably do so after some _time_ not at t...

I am wondering about possible reasons for ctdb not killing all affected connections. Are there tunables regarding this behaviour, maybe some timeout that is set too low for our number of connections? Any debugging suggestions?
Thanks,

We have a shell script that is using multiplexing a lot where the
hostname is normally ignored. With 6.5p1 it stopped working.
The call
ssh -S <controlpath> dummyhost
used to work but results in "ssh: Could not resolve hostname dummyhost:

encoding lots of speech
I had lunch with an interesting guy who had gotten .com-money to record
the whole bible professionally with good actors (in swedish and english, kjv).
The idea was to sell custom made compilations of biblical texts on cd over
internet. The company is now out of money (surprise!), but all the material
is recorded (about 350 hours) and if anyone gets a good idea on what to use
the material to, it

Virgin Radio now on ices2 - yp not working though
This afternoon I've transferred our Ogg Vorbis Icecast2 streams from darkice

and start the streams a few times. They should be stable now as I'm off down
the pub now! As a reminder, the URL for the streams is at

RC2 worse than RC1 and Beta4
After doing an informal (128k) listening test, I have concluded that I
prefer Beta4 over RC2.
The 16kHz low-pass on the RC2 encoder makes it sound like FM radio. Both
encoders SEEM to have a couple of dB bump at 10kHz.
