[PATCH 3/4] xen/manage: Guard against user-space initiated poweroff and XenBus.
...ing the ''shutting_down'' to an atomic and having a reboot notifier. If the ''shutting_down'' is set to anything but SHUTDOWN_INVALID the XenBus handler will not run. That is exactly what we do in the reboot notifier - we set the ''shutting_down'' to SHUTDOWN_POWEROFF. The reason we change the ''shutting_down'' to an atomic is that the changes to said variable were normally guarded by the XenBus mutex - "xenwatch_mutex" - guarantting only one caller changing shutting_down. Since we have now the reboot notifier we have another user of t...

[PATCH] libxl: fix compile error of libvirt
a, libxl_event.h is included in libxl.h. So, the former one also need to be installed. b, define __XEN_TOOLS__ in libxl.h: the head file "xen/sysctl.h" need check this macro. It is the same way used by the xen libxc public headers(tools/libxc/xenctrl.h and tools/libxc/xenctrlosdep.h). Signed-off-by: Bamvor Jian Zhang <bjzhang@suse.com> diff -r 87218bd367be

[RFC] PVFB: Add refresh period to XenStore parameters?
Hello, Sometimes the backend of PVFB knows that it doesn''t need permanent refresh, when the window is minimized for instance (no refresh at all), or the administration tools know that the window is thumnailed, and so a slow refresh rate is fine. Also, some users may want to tune the refresh rate according to the smoothness they would like, balanced with the CPU time that requires.

[RFC PATCH 00/35] Xen i386 paravirtualization support
Unlike full virtualization in which the virtual machine provides the same platform interface as running natively on the hardware, paravirtualization requires modification to the guest operating system to work with the platform interface provided by the hypervisor. Xen was designed with performance in mind. Calls to the hypervisor are minimized, batched if necessary, and non-critical codepaths

[PATCH 00/15] RFC xen device model support
Hi all, this is the long awaited patch series to add xen device model support in qemu; the main author is Anthony Perard. Developing this series we tried to come up with the cleanest possible solution from the qemu point of view, limiting the amount of changes to common code as much as possible. The end result still requires a couple of hooks in piix_pci but overall the impact should be very

[PATCH 00/23] ia64/xen domU take 5
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/xen domU support based on ia64/pv_ops frame work which was sent as another patchest. This patchset does the followings. - Some preparation work. Mainly importing header files to define related structures. - Then, define functions related to hypercall which is the way to communicate with Xen hypervisor. - Add some helper functions which is necessary to

[patch 00/28]xen: Xen implementation for paravirt_ops
Hi Andi, This series of patches implements the Xen paravirt-ops interface. It applies to 2.6.21-git13 + patches-2.6.21-git7-070507-1.tar.gz (I think "unwinder" is the only patch which doesn't apply to git13, and the sched-clock patches are the only ones which this series actually needs). Changes since the last posting: - More netfront review and cleanup - Added ability to

[patch 00/33] xen: Xen paravirt_ops implementation
Hi, This is the Xen implementation for the paravirt_ops interface. The series is based on 2.6.22-rc1-mm1, and I think its ready to be cooked in -mm with a view to being merged in 2.6.23. The first part of the series is some small changes to the core kernel. Apart from the new code added in "Allocate and free vmalloc areas" (posted many times before), they are simply a few one-liners
