Net > DMZ and AllowFTP
I am trying to get the AllowFTP action to work for Net > DMZ traffic and
FTP pasv. I know it is kind of working, as the user can log in, however,
it fails at the port. I have had to open up some high ports for pasv to
work. Now I know this aint cool, so does anyone know what a person has
to do to get the AllowFTP action to work the same way it does if I was
just ftp to the firewall, which does

cdrom device handling
Is there a way for the tools to provide a configured cdrom as cdrom to
the temporary guest? Right now both disk and cdrom retrived from libvirt
will showup as disks in the temporary guest.
This happens for bus ide and scsi. It seems on my test system the guest
can not start from a scsi disk, but the scsi cdrom appears as scsi cdrom
in the guest. So I think its maybe just a matter of generating '<disk
type='file' device='cdrom'&...

WAS: XP home -> Samba NOW: Must be other networking issues...
...they are blocked.
Interesting I added the Samba server's IP/name to my hosts and lmhosts
file on my XP Home computer, now I can see it, ping it by name
(couldn't before), but I have lost all the other computers in my
workgroup, I can still ping them by name, but they don't immediately
showup in the workgroup...odd.
For our purposes static IP's would be fine, just something to get it to
work.
I also added a account on the Samba server called "Mark", (already had
one called "mark"), I'm guessing Windows would export my username as
"Mark" with a cap...

Rails day 2: where is my association?
...lt;%= link_to package.name, :action => "show", :id => package.id
%></td>
<td><%= package.group.name %></td>
<td><%= package.name %></td>
Questions:
what bit of insight am I missing here to understand why the group_id
column won?t showup under a for loop
and
after making an association, what frameworks exist to use that
association in the scaffold? I thought the point of the rails framework
was to see that I had a column and do something with it?
thanks

Samba Very Slow When Using AFS and MS Office (is this a Bug?)
...to the
regestry that allows passwords to be sent in the clear as described by the
Samba documentation.
Now everything is good and fast when I try to access the 60GB share that
is a local disk. The problem is that when I try to access my home
directory things are slow and sometimes files don't showup. In particular,
when I try to access MS Office files things are very very slow. If I copy
the same file to the /60GB partition accessing it through samba is very
fast and normal.
Please note that the AFS partion is already mounted before I login to
Samba from the win2k machine so Samba should just...

Do I have an infected init file?
Hello;
I'm running a FreeBSD 4.10-release-p2 box and both chkrootkit 0.44 & 0.45 report that my /sbin/init file is infected.
It appears as though the egrep for "UPX" in the output of "strings" triggers the infected notice. When I copy the init file from an uninfected box to this one chkrootkit continues to report it as infected. Is chkrootkit reading a copy of the
