FYI dsa_lib.c and dh_lib.c in openssl-0.9.6b and latest snapshot
...te 2 and gcc on Solaris 8 (not suprising since the problems are actually in the openssl code). I used the snapshot from 11/4 for this test on a brand new system I built from the July release of Solaris 8. I have the latest linker patches, C, C++ library patches, etc. If you want to see the ouput of showrev, etc I can provide this. People in the past suggested that I apply the latest linker patch in the past to fix the problem, however that is not true. The only way I can compile openssh and have it work is to do the following suggest from people on this list. Others should be able to replicate my pro...

Is there any way to know if userland is patched?
Dear folks, I'm recently investigating large scale deployment and upgrading FreeBSD RELEASE. It's our tradition to bump "RELEASE-pN" after a security patch is applied, however, it seems that there is less method to determine whether the userland is patched, which is somewhat important for large site managements. So is "uname -sr" the only way to differencate the

zpool kernel panics.
Hi Folks, I''ve got a 3.9 Tb zpool, and it is casing kernel panics on my Solaris 10 280r (SPARC) server. The message I get on panic is this: panic[cpu1]/thread=2a100a95cc0: zfs: freeing free segment (offset=423713792 size=1024) This seems to come about when the zpool is being used or being scrubbed - about twice a day at the moment. After the reboot, the scrub seems to have
