There''s also a heroku app: http://wicked.heroku.com/projects.pdf debug mode of

Two Internet connections...
I do some occasional tech work for a cable TV/Internet service provider. They have now offered me free services, including cable Internet. I currently have a DSL service through the telephone company and, for several reasons including the fact that it is really unlimited service with no cap and it comes with newsgroup access (neither of which the cable service has), I'm not really prepared

NUT support for multi-OS environment
Hi All: I am interested at looking at NUT to manage shutdown response to power outages more efficiently. Presently I have an APC SmartUPS 1500 which connects to a "server" using a USB connection, from where I run a shutdown batch file for our server environment. Currently I have 3 boxes running XCP with a number of servers on them, a XenServer box with a number of MS servers

Bug#23903: samba: samba maps username before authenicating with NT password server
Hi, I am the Debian GNU/Linux of the Samba package in this distribution. Today I received this bug report but since I don't use the authentication method this user mentions, I can't reproduce the problem. I heard Jeremy Allison said something about a bug in 1.9.18p8 regarding user mappings and posted a patch but since the patch is applied to the version of Samba this user is using, I am

How to extract partial predictions, package mgcv
Dear package mgcv users, I am using package mgcv to describe presence of a migratory bird species as a function of several variables, including year, day number (i.e. day-of-the-year), duration of survey, latitude and longitude. Thus, the "global model" is: global_model<-gam(present ~ as.factor(year) + s(dayno, k=5) + s(duration, k=5) + s(x, k=5) + s(y, k=5), family =

Pairwise Comparrisons
Dear all, I''m trying to write a function, that will take as an argument, some aligned genome sequences, and using a sliding window, do pairwise comparisons of sequence similarity. Coding the sliding window I think I can manage but what I''m trying to get to grips with is getting it so as every pairwise comparison is made, no matter how many genomes are added, from 3 to N. So if

Samba User Nightmare
Hey, I need help! (I'm kinda new to this.), This past weekend I switched over our server at work from a MS NT 4.0 server to a Red Hat Linux version 9 server. I had to set up several network shares via Samba. For testing purposes I set up a former employee's account on the new server. This account would enable me to communicate with the old server and the new to copy over files. All the

Looking for a mentor
Looking for a mentor... Having some issues with Asterisk 1.4.22 install. I am new to both Linux and Asterisk, however have 20+ years programming experience. First off I hate asking questions I could answer myself. I have and am reading The Asterisk manual, 2nd edition. I have successfully installed CentOS 5.2 and used yum to get a C compiler, current speed bump is with ./configure bash:

unexpected shutdown, had to reinstall xorg.server
Greetings all; I expect that I may not have the shutdown properly configured, but my site was subjected to some bad weather related intermittent power losses a week+ back, and I have an automatic standby plant, a 20kw, that usuall fires up and has the lights back on in 7 or 8 seconds. So while the power folks were reclosing substation breakers to see where the next tree limb was shorting

TCP/UDP broken checksums redux (with UDP workaround)
Hello, A little informal input on the TCP/UDP checksum deferral/offload: it fails for me. I have one Xen host, running a snapshot of xen-unstable at 2006-03-24 (9435:11fee62328cc). Each of its domUs are allocated their own /30, with the help of a hacked-up vif script. Prior to working around the problem, Domain-0 could establish TCP connections to other domains. In the case of SSH, it would

custom maildir location mapping
Greetings, I'm migrating from a sendmail/dovecot setup with system users to a postfix/dovecot maildir setup with virtual users. To simplify the mess we've gotten into by having users that can't remember their username, we've switched to email address being the username. In order to allow for a smooth migration, I need to allow users to be able to login with their email address as

Is there a way to have rsync not treat files that have gone missing (e.g. Maildir messages that have been removed) as errors while indicating I/O errors and such?
