[Bug 1463] New: poor performance with large block size
.... I did the transfer with no block size option and it takes about 6 minutes (GigEthernet). I used --block-size = 90k and it took about 6 minutes. I used --block-size=182000 (close to the square root of 29 Gig) and it only completed ~50 Meg of transfer of the 1.3 Gig in a couple of hours. Chris Shoemaker suggests this is a problem with the sliding window being a fixed size of 256k and that the block size will not allow multiple blocks in the window size. Operating system is Redhat 9.1 for both systems. Both systems have the 2.6.2 with only 1 patch and it is the one Wayne provided for --bwlim...

problem replacing NA's in a dataset (10% remain after removal attempt)
...lues in the "filPFD" column. Any thoughts? Am I missing something obvious? Is there any way these values could be coming up as NA but belong to some different classification such that they are not picked up by the is.na function? what am I doing wrong
I am seeing some rather strange behavior with synch of 2 directories on the same system using 2.6.2. The older file is the image of a full backup and is 29Gig in size. The new image is a slice of an incremental backup and is 101Meg in size. the command line is: time /home/wally/rsync/rsync-2.6.2 -av --rsh=rsh --backup --stats --block-size=<xxx> --write-batch=kbup1aaa

[OT] CVS update
Um, I don't remember the exact checkout command line I used, but it was probably something like the instructions on the web page: cvs -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot rsync anyway, how do I update? I tried: [chris@lt2 rsync]$ cvs update -d -P cvs [update aborted]: connect to pserver.samba.org(66.70.73.150):2401 failed: Connection refused and login gives the same: [chris@lt2

WARNING: <file> failed verification -- update discarded (will try again).
I've been using rsync for a long time, and it's very cool. For the first time, last night, I got a message I don't understand. I am using rsync 2.6.4 on Fedora (FC4) Linux to a Fedora (FC3) Linux machine. The command I am using is: rsync -av --delete-excluded --exclude="*~" --exclude="#*#" <source dir> remove_machine:<dest dir> I got the following

As we say in france, "Les cordonniers sont toujours les plus mal chausses", and in your native language: "Nobody is worse shod than the shoemaker''s wife". For the moment, I have nothing else than this Lion platform. I''m waiting after a Tiger system for the end of this month. Soon, I would be able to open a zoo. Not ringing phone that are in use
We have a small number of phones, when a call comes in we want all the phones that aren't in use to ring. Is there a simple way to test and see what phones are in use then ring the other phones? I tried some code like this: [zap] exten => s,1,Answer exten => s,2,ChanIsAvail(${DERRICK}) exten => s,3,SetVar,"EVERYONE=${DERRICK}" exten => s,4,ChanIsAvail(${DON}) exten

--write-batch just hangs?
I'm using rsync version 2.5.7, and I see this behavior with Debian and Redhat installations. This works: rsync rsync://mirror.physics.ncsu.edu/redhat/linux/updates/9/en/os/i386/zebra* ./temp But this doesn't: rsync --write-batch=mytest rsync://mirror.physics.ncsu.edu/redhat/linux/updates/9/en/os/i386/zebra* ./temp I've also tried with my normal args, like "-vvvvv --progress -t

Need information about "--stats" output.
Hi All... I use rsync to backup most of my servers to an offsite co-located server. I've been using this setup for about a month or so now and have been generally pleased with the operation as a whole. But one thing bothers me: I use the following command to actually do the transfers: rsync -ae ssh --stats --delete /source/path offsite.server.name:/destination/ Which then in turn spits

Abstracting ownership verification out of Controller
Right now I have a controller for "events" that belong to a specific user. I only want the creator to be able to edit or delete the event. I''ve got the proper foreign keys set up. I''ve finally arrived at the point where I can take baby steps with code, but looks like my first steps are in flagrant violation of the DRY principle. Here''s what I have so far in
