If possible, we would like to fix the NUT package so that it works out of the box. Removing the MODE= line seems like it should either fail due to more restrictive default permissions, or it would work

Installation problem
I am trying to install R-2.3.0 on a 64bit linux box and encounter several error during the make step. I'd appreciate any help.
