1.0 or 1.1pre?
I have about 15 nodes running 1.1pre15 connected and running quite well. I don't remember why I installed 1.1preX originally. Possibly because I added a router with custom firmware to the network (Tomato Shibby firmware for my ASUS router) which included 1.1pre14. Now I'm trying to add an Openwrt device and it includes 1.0.33 only. This will replace the Tomato Shibby device with 1.1pre14. I just downgraded one of my other devices to 1.0 (1.0.34) to see if this was going to work, and it doesn'...

Fwd: tinc questions
Hi, I have some questions about tinc. " *Automatic full mesh routing*Regardless of how you set up the tinc daemons to connect to each other, VPN traffic is always (if possible) sent directly to the destination, without going through intermediate hops. " 1- To have client to client direct connection and don't have traffic through the server should I have port forward at the NAT? Or

Ironically it's not in his 'vpn' release. It's currently only in the AIO (All in One builds), which generally requires routers with > 16mb flash space (I think most ARM routers do anyway). Tinc + Tomato (firmware)
...and Linksys E1550. These should fit in routers with 8Mb flash, despite my file server saying 8.1Mb (it's counting funny and calling them bigger). My Belkin with 8MB flashed fine. Images with and without VLAN support provided. Currently in Tomato there are 3 main branches (Toastman, Raf, and Shibby). While they collaborate together, each have their own distribution. I'm hopeful at least one will adopt Tinc into their future releases. I'm on the dev team, but they have the final say if they want it in their distro. If they do, it will likely find it's way also into a few ARM supp...

Firewall rules for TINC server
Hi to all. Tinc and OpenWRT
Greetings. I'm new to tinc, but have so far managed to get a couple laptops and a hosted server all connected. They're working as expected, running Tinc 1.1-pre11, which I compiled from source. Next I want to move on to adding my home router into the mix. My routers run OpenWRT. I don't have experience compiling anything from source for OpenWRT, but OpenWRT has Tinc 1.0.25
