smbclient -b parameter
...man pages) to change the buffersize
in case that might be the problem but the smbclient I'm running doesn't
recognise it. I've installed 2.0.7 on Compaq Tru64, smbclient declares
itself as 1.9.18p7.
Has it been removed or have I somehow got an old version of smbclient?

Extending the storeconfigs database
...guidance on handling the
schema version.
First prize would see my database extensions applied as migrations.
But then ActiveRecord would want to bump the schema version.
Any ideas on how to handle this gracefully so that I don''t confuse the
hell out of puppet itself, on upgrade?
Thanks,
Sheldon.

Dynamic fields and AAF
Hi,
I have a model which has properties, these are your standard name/value
pairs, but also have attributes that affect how I want to store them in
ferret. I was using 0.9.5 with 0.2 of aaf, which seemed fine, I just
copied and pasted (yes, I know, ick) the to_doc method and added code to
iterate though the properties that that model had, and add relavent
fields to the document.
It seems

Problem with mput * on Tru64 ?
...rks OK, "mput *" or something like "mput *.bat" fails with
the error message "find: bad option -maxdepth".
Several questions - Anyone else come across this one? Would dropping
back to 2.0.6 fix the problem? Could it be an issue with 2.0.7 on Tru64
V5?

Samba Upgrade (Downgrade?)
...#39;s now months later and I
would like to move our domain to the latest stable 4.1 release (and then
move to new hardware). Is it possible to do this? Can it be as easy as
building 4.1.XX and installing it over my current 4.2 or do I need to do
something else?
Thanks and sorry to be a bother,
Sheldon

OpenSSH: multiple vulnerabilities in the new PAM code
This affects only 3.7p1 and 3.7.1p1. The advice to leave
PAM disabled is far from heartening, nor is the semi-lame
blaming the PAM spec for implementation bugs.
I happen to like OPIE for remote access.

Question on Deploying a Ferret DRb server
...remote =>
:true. But what lives on server 2? Do I just deploy the models folder,
the config folder and the scripts folder? Or do I deploy an entire copy
of the web site code?
I haven''t found the answer to that in anything I''ve read, so I thought
I''d ask here.
Thanks,
Sheldon Maloff

please explain find_with_ferret, retrieve_records, :include and :conditions
Hello, I''m using find_with_ferret to search multiple models and it
works great. The trouble is I need to filter the results
using :include and :conditions.
I get two errors depending on the syntax I use in the search. Reading
the source, I see the retrieve_records method seems to filter
the :include and :conditions so that they only apply to the relevant
model when searching

Setting Sip Headers From Dial App?
...for Asterisk to set extra
sip headers based on a sip phone returning a 302 in a dialplan?
Example:
PSTN => Asterisk => SIP-Phone, SIP-Phone returns 302 Redirect, Asterisk
sets X-Something: Some_Value & X-Somethingelse: Some_Other_Value, then
sends the new invite with added headers.

several users since 8/2000 with no published response from anyone
except a cryptic note to "downgrade to 2.0.7", which is the version
smbclient
claims to be.
Do you have or can you point to any further information?

Cannot send_file then delete it
My application accepts a form to create multiple large(100''s of MB)
temporary files and then zip''s them up to send off to a user.
I have the files constructed, and the zipping working. The problem is
that if I use send_file to send the zip off to the user, I cannot
delete the file afterwards as it seems send_file forks off another
process and deletes the file before the
