...tree created by rsync so that the snaphot started from scratch again. Each of these two times it got to exactly the same file: usr/lib/locale/es_CO/LC_COLLATE when it crashed. That was when I stopped rebuidling and re-cabling my hardware, because I saw a determinate pattern in the crashes... (sheepish) should have said that before .. sorry.. ..Trevor..

A way to shut down workstation
In a mail to this list a command for shutting down a PC is mentioned, but without further explanation. It said something like this: net rpc shutdown -S <machine name> I do not get it: who shuts down who? For example, I have a samba acting as a PDC server for network with windows 2K workstaions. Users forget to shut down the ws's and I would like to do that automatically (from cron)

Newbie config help? Wellgate 3701a
Hi again, Kind of sheepish about asking for help, as I have only spent a day banging my head off this... I got my new Welltech 3701a, 1FXS,1FXO gateway. I flashed it with what is seemingly the appropriate firmware (SIP V1.04). This seems to have gone ok, and it is now registering both ports ok with asterisk. For 1 min...

Shorewall Release Model
The current Shorewall release model has the following characteristics: a) The last two major releases are supported. b) Only the latest major release is actively developed. c) Bug fixes are available for the prior major release but only against the last minor release. d) The last major release is advertised as the "Current Release". I''m thinking of switching to a model that

No nonodump...
I'm not sure where else to ask about this, so please excuse me if this is the wrong forum. In trying to remove a 'nodump' flag on a directory with the 'chflags' command I have noticed that the 'nonodump' flag does not function. I see an open PR for the problem: o [2003/01/09] i386/46912 johan chflags nonodump fails I was wondering when this might be dealt with? Else is

Ajax.Autocompleter is not a constructor
Hi Rails, I am having trouble setting up an autocomplete text field. Using rails 1.0.0 and just trying to copy the simple scriptaculous demo (http://demo.script.aculo.us/ajax/autocompleter) fails. My view and controller are set up the same way. In firefox 1.0.4 (and safari, don''t remember the version) I get the Ajax.Autocompleter error in the javascript console when loading the

OFF-TOPIC: Job opening in Marin County, California
I'm feeling rather sheepish about adding to topic drift, but like Jim last week, I'm looking for a developer to work on either/both front-/back-end components of our LAMP (with P as in Perl) application. Compared to Jim, I can probably promise a little less abuse but just as many hours and as much stress. More details h...

Apology for not enough protection of new R-devel
Dear R-devel subscribers, I'm feeling quite sheepish at the moment: When I had activated the change from majordomo to mailman this morning, I accidentally didn't activate the spam(+some virus) detection part. I've only activated it half an hour ago. Indeed there were twos message of the following kind sent from R-devel -- I did never seem t...

would it be possible to extend TrustedUserCAKeys so that certain keys could not be used to authenticate a particular user?
Wondering if it would make sense to have more granular control of trustedUserCAkeys? I have 1 key used to sign root certs, the key is shortlived, and is rotated daily. And I have a 2nd key to sign non- privileged user certs. The non-privileged certs have a longer validity period, and the signing keys are not rotated as frequently. It would be nice to ensure this second signing key's

problem with rgl interactivity with R-2.7.1 and Ubuntu Hardy
I'm trying to use the rgl package on R-2.7.1 running on top of Ubuntu Hardy amd64. using open3d() and plot3d() I get a plot, but it is not interactive. Furthermore, changes to par3d("FOV"=my.new.value) do nothing. I suspect something is wrong with the rendering engine or interface to it. I do have an Nvidia driver installed and compiz works correctly on the desktop. I've

RAIDZ v. RAIDZ1
So, I took four 1.5TB drives and made RAIDZ, RAIDZ1 and RAIDZ2 pools. The sizes for the pools were 5.3TB, 4.0TB, and 2.67TB respectively. The man page for RAIDZ states that "The raidz vdev type is an alias for raidz1." So why was there a difference between the sizes for RAIDZ and RAIDZ1? Shouldn''t the size be the same for "zpool create raidz ..." and "zpool

Advice on using barplot
Greetings- I'm venturing into a new (for me) area of using R: some presentation graphics based on R data. I'd like to compare two distributions of ordinal variables in relatively small (N=203 and 207) subsets of an R dataset. I can get a reasonably good picture of the distributions' differences with: x11() plot(table(hcd.df$auth.sum[hcd.df$datecat==1]),
