test_create gets 200 instead of :success
...'
assert_equal ''Borrower Anyone was added.'', flash[:notice]
assert_equal num_borrowers + 1, Borrower.count
end
What am I leaving out of my test to keep me from :success? Or should it
be rearranged somehow? As I said, the app itself adds a borrower
correctly.
TIA,
Shauna

validates_length_of with char field
...e => "Use the two-letter state abbreviation"
I know I can use a drop-down list instead (that''s my next exercise) but
I''d like to know how to do this for other char fields as well. Or is the
char issue a red herring and something else is wrong with my code?
Thanks,
Shauna

Can I run multiple apps simultaneously?
...s. Can I run, say, a mongrel
server from more than one app location? I know I can''t do that if
they''re both using port 3000 (I tried), but is it possible to configure
some apps to use a different port? Where would I do that? Most of the
apps are using mysql databases.
Thanks,

How do I create an array to represent an empty record?
...write a specific data value. The Cart example creates an @items array
within @cart. Since I don''t need multiple items, how can I just create a
simple hash of column names and values for the single record?
Or is there an even simpler way to approach this that I''m missing?
Thanks!

How do I test a unique index?
...ayment_number.
How do I enforce this in my model? When I run a unit test with just the
index set I get a "Mysql::Error: #23000Duplicate entry...". I would like
to have something like a validates_uniqueness_of on the combination of
loan_id and payment_number. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Shauna

Find, paginate, conditions and associations
Hi, I''m trying to figure out how to use paginate when one of the
conditions depends on the association between one model and another.
For example: I have a model Authors which has_many Posts. I would like
to find all the authors and order them by the number of posts that they
have published and then paginate those results.
What if I wanted to base the paginate condition on all the
