Fileserver and other questions
Good evening, I have a Windows 2003 Server setup as workgroup with one big share that I want to replace it with Samba. 1- Is it possible to have shares per department? Let's say: a share for Sales users, a share for Administration users and so on, so that files and folders are only visible for each group. If so, how can I accomplish this? Also, is it possible to give read/write

Permission Issues with GPO
Ah, ok, now its getting more clear.. I think problem you face is because of the following. You did setup a share with "unix" rights. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Shares_with_POSIX_ACLs While you should setup a share with "windows" rights. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Shares_with_Windows_ACLs So, tell me, how do you set your share rights from linux then ? And how the file/folder rights? Because this is your problem, its the way it is setup. For "windows...

Need help with printer drivers

I've checked the system properties, it show WORKGROUP Does 'work' exist as a Unix user ? - Yes, otherwise `smbpasswd -a work` complains Does 'work' exist as a windows user ? - No, the windows client can be any user. The current logon username is
