Clustering dovecot?
...rrently I have a mail server running postfix and dovecot with users in mysql. I have Outlook (blich) clients checking IMAP mail on the server. I'd like to build some fault-tolerance into that system in case I have hardware failure. I've read through: http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation/SharedDisk but I feel I need more information. My basic understanding is that I'll need 2 clustered systems running with shared disk space and shared IP. Performance/load-balancing isn't an issue for me, it's just fault-tolerance that I'm worried about. I found a nice long doc for Cyrus...

Dovecot and Lustre FS
Hello, Right now, I'm using Exim and a customized version of an old?(10 years old)?Atmail POP3 server written in Perl, with ~10000 mailboxes located on a?Lustre file system.?So far so good. Though, I plan to migrate from Atmail to Dovecot, to provide our customers with IMAP support. Has anyone any experience with Dovecot on Lustre FS ? Thanks Christian ?

Design details of high performance dovecot cluster
Dear All, Currently we are running a mail system for 10000 users each 2GB mailbox. At present we have 5 mail servers where users mailboxes are distributed almost uniformly. We have a HP SAN Storage (HP EVA 6400) where mailboxes are stored. We partition the storage into five vg and each is mounted on the 5 servers. We are using postfix and dovecot. The system was running fine but currently we

dotlock errors without using dotlock
I have a few clients that have more than one user in the same mailbox. I have my setup using fctrl for mailbox and index locking. My mail is stored on a network file system (gluster) and my indexes are stored on the local drive. I have a few issues: - My users mailboxes have issues where messages will be mixed up (you go to open a message and it gets a different message) - messages will

Corrupt index files
I am running Dovecot IMAP on Linux, on a LizardFS storage cluster with Maildir storage. This has worked well for most of the accounts for several months. However in the last couple of weeks we are seeing increasing errors regarding corrupted index files. Some of the accounts affected are unable to retrieve messages due to timeouts. It appeared the problems were due to the accounts being accessed

dovecot from debian lenny-backports does not accept connections
hi, dovecot from the debian lenny backports does not successfully accept incomming imap or imaps connections; when the client connect i can see the clients ip address in an imap-process but the client cannot succesfully connect and retries this several times where an new imap-process is bound until the maximum connections per client is reached; when the client is closed the imap-processes on
