Frame isn't dead, my wife is a technical writer in the EDA (electronic

AD-DC samba_gpoupdate failing
Well, I had a look at the python bindings and the error handling was in
shambles.
I fixed libgpo/pygpo.c and I now get:
gpos = ads.get_gpo_list(creds.get_username())
SystemError: Failed to get machine token for 'DC01$' (CN=DC01,OU=Domain
Controllers,DC=rvx,DC=is)
(the failing call is status = gp_get_machine_token(self->ads_ptr, frame,

...#39;t dead
When I think of FrameMaker, I think of the program that started out on Solaris, then moved to other big iron Unices and OS X. Wikipedia informs me that it?s been Windows-only for about a decade, which must be how it dropped off my radar.
Still, it?s good to know the old thing is still shambling along in some form. I was impressed with it when I used it way back when.

AD-DC samba_gpoupdate failing
...such diagnosis.
1) ouput a warning (failur of getpwuid is currently a DEBUG macro)
2) fix error handling. Will do some tests.

AD-DC samba_gpoupdate failing
Hi,
I just upgraded to 4.8.9 and decided to give the samba_gpoupdate feature a
whirl.
However, it fails.
The line that's failing is "gpos = ads.get_gpo_list(creds.get_username())"
returning None.
This is probably a failure, since it should otherwise return an empty list
(if there were no gpos to return). But there is no output to indicate what
may be failing.
I have setup of three

...d to can no
longer have the same name.
THAT IS JUST PLAIN AWFUL!
I have renamed all the shares on the machine now and things are working
again. But the number of things across the office network that relied on
the share names beggars belief. Users E-mail profiles held on the server
etc etc. A shambles.
The fact that a virgin installation of 3.0.24.4 does work (in the FC6
test above) suggests that the history of the FC5 machine that has been
upgraded from 3.0.24-3 has some significance in this situation.

ssh weirdness - hanging sessions intermittently with no connectivity after for an hour or so...
I just finished rebuilding my server after a penetration last week
which left my filesystem in shambles. I've gotten most everything
running again better than before with one exception.
sshd doesn't work as well as it used to and I'm not sure why, I'm
including a sanitized log snippet, hopefully someone can point out my
stupidity for me...
If I open a putty session from another n...

Status of SCP vulnerability
Hello,
I would like to request an update of the progress regarding fixes for the recently disclosed SCP vulnerability (CVE-2018-20685, CVE-2019-6111, CVE-2019-6109, CVE-2019-6110)
It has been stated that CVE-2018-20685 has been patched in november but there are currently no information available on the progress of patches regarding the other CVEs.
Will there be a patched release any time soon?

RFC: Splitting up the file{} type functionality.
The file{} type can do all of the following:
* manage single files
* manage directories
* manage symlinks
* manage recursive file copies
The intersection of all these bits of functionality makes it difficult
to understand exactly what is going on when you''re new to Puppet, and
even experienced users often don''t know how combining symlinks/content
management is going to work.
