how to use /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow for samba passwords?
How can i configure samba to use /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow for the samba
passwords?
I dont want to use smbpasswd for samba and would like it to just get its
passwords from unix OS.
Im running solaris8 and samba 3.

RFC: multiple address spaces for one process
In a hosted VMM like LinuxOnLinux or UML, context switch time can be a
major problem (as mmap when repeated for each guest page frame takes a
long time).  One solution is to allow the host kernel to keep a cache of
address space contexts, and switch between them in a single
operation. 
The attached patch is a start at this.  It works well for
LinuxOnLinux; but I'd be interested from the

can puppet replace NIS?
Hi folks --
Does anyone out there have experienced replacing NIS, using puppet?
If so, can you kindly share to me some advise, gotchas, and whatnot,
etc...
